Casa Vigil
Contemporary, Regional Cuisine · ★ Michelin
$$$$
This is the 'casa' of famous wine expert Alejandro Vigil, known more widely as 'the Messi of Wine', having been the first to be awarded 100 points by Robert Parker for his two Argentinian wines, namely the iconic 2013 Gran Enemigo Single Vineyard Gualtallary and the 2016 Adriana Vineyard River Stone. The restaurant’s setting in Chachingo comes as a something of a surprise, and is inspired by Dante’s Divine Comedy (the story of a journey from hell to paradise, as well as that of the struggle with the inner self, hence his El Enemigo (The Enemy) wine brand). Following a guided tour of the vineya

Transplanting raw ingredients from the field to the plate takes on added value when they are grown on your farm, bringing added personality to dishes and enhancing the culinary narrative when it comes to building recipes. The Lagarde winery in Luján de Cuyo is famous for the excellent quality of its wines (DOC Malbec) and for the fact that it has its own organic fruit and vegetable gardens (tomatoes, lettuce, sweet peppers, chard, pomegranates, aromatic herbs etc), in addition to olives and other crops that it supplies to the restaurant. At Zonda Cocina de Paisaje, the goal is to pay homage to

Brindillas
Modern Cuisine · ★ Michelin

Situated in an uninteresting and not particularly attractive area to the south of Mendoza (Vistalba, in the department of Luján de Cuyo), Brindillas is one of those intimate settings with excellent service that will win over food-lovers. Through dishes such as roasted aubergines with a Romesco sauce and salted anchovies, succulent grilled veal with ground pepper, sweet potato and chard, and caramelised peach with amaretto, a light mascarpone foam and home-made almond ice-cream, chef Mariano Gallego, who has worked with famous Spanish chef Carme Ruscalleda and was at the helm in one of her rest

Discover the true essence of Mendoza's gastronomy! Having gained experienced in numerous restaurants and wineries, chef Sebastián Weigandt has found a true state of contentment here. In his view, the secret to his cuisine lies in the quality of his ingredients – and in this respect Mendoza is a gastronomic paradise. Fully committed to the region, he works with local suppliers and is part of a historical project called DOP that studies foodstuffs that existed in the area’s early settlements. In his contemporary-style eatery, he offers three tasting menus that allow products from the vegetable w

Angélica Cocina Maestra

This restaurant, the name of which pays homage to the mother of Nicolás Catena Zapata, showcases the authentic flavours of Mendoza from a modern perspective. The dining room, which is as imposingly impressive as the rest of the building, is part of the Catena Zapata winery in Agrelo (in the department of Luján de Cuyo), famous both for the quality of its wines and its design in the shape of a Mayan pyramid. Here, the duo of chefs at the helm, Josefina Diana and Juan Manuel Feijoo, boldly showcase their “Wine First” concept, where every aspect of their cooking revolves around wine, and not the

At the Riccitelli Bistró, they have gone one step further to bring together fine cuisine, an appreciation of wine, and sustainability. The Matias Riccitelli Wines bodega in Luján de Cuyo has created this restaurant, built out of remodelled containers and “planted” amid old vineyards, to enhance its wine experience. Chef Juan Ventureyra’s cuisine, which can be sampled in an informal dining room or on the lower terrace, explores Mendoza’s culinary roots on two menus (Mendoza and Argentina, both of which include a visit to the winery) with a strong focus on native, locally sourced produce and ing

For those on a quest for a gastronomic experience rather than just a simple meal, this restaurant offering a combination of fine wine and fine dining is the perfect option. Occupying a glass-fronted annexe with views of the vineyards at the entrance to the prestigious Trapiche winery, Espacio Trapiche features an open-view kitchen visible from the entrance hall (part of the floor is covered with glass to enable guests to view the underground wine cellar below) as well as an attractive contemporary-style dining room. You may be in a winery, but what draws your attention here is the fact that you’re made to feel at home! This attractive restaurant, occupying a separate conservatory-style building with a terrace and overlooking the surrounding garden through large picture windows, is enthusiastically run by chef Javier Quinteros. What's on the menu? This ambitious cuisine draws inspiration from around the world (Italy, France, Japan) and offers extremely colourful seasonal dishes that aim to win diners over with their honesty. The menu, which demonstrates a special desire to balance flavours and seasonings,
