A winding road takes you to the top of the hill, from where you get a first impression of Osman Sezener's world. Once you arrive at his family estate, you trade the view of olive trees and vines for his impressive vegetable garden. A visit to the garden is an absolute must, as is an overnight stay in one of the guestrooms. This trendy glasshouse restaurant is surrounded by breathtaking natural beauty, and the chefs' passion and energy are infectious. The restaurant grows about half of its ingredients independently and sources other produce from nearby suppliers. Chef Sezener works with a suppl

Atilla Heilbronn serves up a distinctive take on Turkish cuisine. Having grown up in Germany and worked at several top-flight establishments, he has now set up shop at this stylish boutique hotel. The glass-paned restaurant can only accommodate a handful of tables, which makes for an intimate atmosphere. Hostess Buse adds to the vibe with her attentive service. Chef Heilbronn's meticulously crafted dishes are visually stunning and showcase the finest local ingredients. His German training is evident in the exceptional bread he bakes, including a dark sourdough and a pretzel-style baguette. His

There is a rustic charm about this place that is reflected in the food. At the counter, there is an impressive selection of mezze and hot dishes that you can also order straight away. Market-fresh Turkish cuisine is prepared with great passion and respect for tradition. Take, for example, the green beans cooked in a tomato sauce with onion and smoked aubergine, served with well-seasoned yoghurt, or the lamb stew with a light stock made from tomato, garlic and pepper, enhanced with cumin and coriander. At Beğendik Abi you are guaranteed a delicious and affordable dining experience. The queue th

Hostess Aslıhan's friendly smile and warm welcome will make you feel right at home in this quintessentially Anatolian stone house. The restaurant's historical charm is complemented by the Mediterranean feel of the courtyard terrace. The extensive menu primarily features hot and cold appetisers with a traditional Turkish twist. Think fish soup with freshly caught sea bream, prawns and squid. Or perhaps a succulent kokoreç served with hummus, and a velvety fava bean purée seasoned with lemon and dill… These dishes brimming with flavour are perfect for sharing with friends in a casual setting.

Ozan and Seray Kumbasar make a formidable team who put their heart and soul into their restaurant. Seray wins hearts with her love for regional wines, presenting them with expertise and surprising us, for instance, with a Chamlija Riesling, 2024, from Baglari. Her digestif trolley is nothing short of outstanding. Her love of the local terroir is shared by her chef husband, and he sources whatever he does not grow himself from nearby producers whenever possible. Every six weeks his set menu changes to keep pace with the seasons. This also fuels his creativity and shapes the direction of his sen

Once a butcher's shop, this establishment has evolved into a restaurant for meat lovers, and you can also purchase cuts to take home. The range is outstanding, in terms of both variety and quality. But come and see for yourself! Why not start with a few mezze, before moving on to the succulent lamb cutlets, or try the rump steak, marinated for a week in milk and herbs and cooked to perfection. There are small pots of spices on the tables, including cumin and oregano, so you can season your meat to your liking. Having said that, it is so exquisitely grilled that any sauce would really be entire

Housed in a former Greek theatre in the picturesque old town of Urla, this trendy establishment combines an industrial aesthetic with an inviting atmosphere. The restaurant's freshly pressed olive oil is a highlight of its modern cuisine, which is full of personality. Acidity and spice bring the dishes to life. Start, for example, with pickled sea bream with green apple and a splash of lime juice, then follow that up with melt-in-your-mouth charcoal-roasted lamb cutlets with parsley, olive oil and onion – straightforward and delicious. The ingredients speak for themselves.

Dining with a view of the vineyards, or on the terrace surrounded by the grapevines, is an experience that will leave a lasting impression. Levan offers a convivial atmosphere in a charming and intimate setting. On the chalkboard, you will find a dozen dishes, from mezze to share to main courses to savour on your own. The traditional cuisine of the Aegean coast is given a contemporary twist: Examples include sea bass marinated in lemon before cooking and served with a crisp salad, or house-made ravioli stuffed with various cheeses and accompanied by a Parmesan and cream sauce.
