Modern Cuisine, Innovative · ★★ Michelin
$$$$
Dining at this restaurant with just 10 seats is like attending a show, but with the best seats in the house! Although it starts out quietly, the kitchen comes to life as the chefs embark on the task in hand, with interesting interaction between chef Rafa Costa e Silva and his guests. The surprise tasting menu begins with a variety of appetisers in which vegetables take centre stage – displayed on a wooden tray illuminated by a spotlight on the counter – and served in different forms and textures. These are organically grown in line with the seasons and are mainly sourced from the chef’s garden

A few metres from the conical Catedral de São Sebastião building, there is a singular restaurant with an unassuming façade that can easily go unnoticed among Lapa’s historic townhouses. Climbing a long, narrow staircase, you will discover a two‑storey establishment with brick walls that lend an industrial, pared‑back and spacious feel. Here, chef Yan Ramos runs a kitchen marked by his creativity, updated daily according to ingredient availability. At lunchtime, a fixed menu composed of three courses is served, while at dinner there is an eleven‑step tasting menu. Do not miss the unmissable Roa

Térèze is the perfect choice if you’re on the lookout for a quiet setting for a romantic supper. It is part of the Santa Teresa Mgalley hotel, a delightful historic property built in 1850 with a sophisticated atmosphere and breathtaking views. The menu is based around a contemporary theme that uses seasonal ingredients, plus a mix of Brazilian and international recipes. Chefs Jérôme Dardillac and Luanna Malheiros conjure up surprising combinations such as octopus with roasted tomatoes, served on a bell pepper coulis, garlic cream, fresh basil, and caper popcorn. After lunch or dinner, why not

Aprazível

Aprazível is a must for those who love a combination of delicious cuisine and nature. This family-run restaurant is located in hills surrounding the city in the Santa Teresa district, with its narrow winding streets and breathtaking views. Here, chef Ana Castilho conjures up a menu featuring organic and biodynamic ingredients from different regions around Brazil, yet without neglecting either creativity or a delicate touch. We can highly recommend the ceviche in a tucupi sauce with plantain chips, plus the delicious free-range “galinhada caipira” chicken, served with sausage from Minas Gerais,

argentinian, steak_house
$$$
The name of this restaurant is a reference to the famous Argentinian tango “A Media Luz”, while the number 348 corresponds to the number of the street where the first of the brand’s ventures opened in Greater São Paulo. It overlooks the Marina da Glória, hence the spectacular views from tables on the terrace, and features several spacious dining rooms and an extensive glass-fronted wine cellar. The culinary focus is of course on Argentina and choice cuts of meats cooked on the grill, including specialities such as ribeye, centre cut ribeye, filet mignon with garlic, chorizo sausage and top sir

Stepping through the gate of its discreet façade means leaving the bustle of everyday life behind and entering a space with a soaring ceiling height, where the past lives alongside the most modern vanguard. The main room carries a faintly industrial air, retaining its weathered red-brick walls, and is dominated by six large round tables and one special elongated table for five set before the open kitchen. The celebrated chef Alberto Landgraf is defined by simplicity and naturalness—hallmarks visible in his efforts to champion Brazilian roots and the transparency of flavours. His proposition ce

Sult is the perfect choice if you’re looking for a relaxed restaurant offering excellent value for money. Located close to the Morro de São João hill, it boasts a modern, uncluttered decor plus an impressive open kitchen and bottles of wine with notes from guests written on them as added decoration in the dining room. Under the baton of chef Julia Lottus, the cuisine features dishes that combine a Brazilian identity with the cooking of Italy. An example, and one that delights all his guests, is the fresh fillet of pirarucu fish served with a creamy tucupi and jambu risotto. Having said this, t

The kitchen is run by chef Roberta Ciasca from the renowned Miam Miam. The cuisine here is based around innovative vegan and vegetarian dishes designed for sharing.
