Surrounded by nothing but fields and livestock, this dog-friendly pub sports shabby-chic décor, blazing fires and a relaxed, cosy feel. The unfussy, classically based dishes are all the better for their simplicity; if the chefs have got a fresh, sweet fillet of megrim sole, for example, then they wisely don't get in the way of its natural flavours.
