D'O

Creative, Italian Contemporary · ★★ Michelin

€€€€

On a charming piazza presided over by an elm tree and a seventeenth-century church, tables in two of the three dining rooms overlook the scene, while the contemporary elegance of D’O unfolds inside. Chef Davide Oldani, now a defining figure of Italian cuisine, crafts dishes that distill twenty years of work and formative experiences, including memorable stints with Marchesi and Ducasse. Creative ideas rooted in Italian taste, impeccable technique, and presentations that are both essential and playfully pop: as exemplified by the Cuttlefish in its ink with pickled porcini and dill. Olmo

Olmo takes its name from the large elm tree that stands in the centre of Cornaredo’s small square, a symbol of the town’s pedestrianised area. This new restaurant opened by chef Davide Oldani has just three tables, which can be pushed together to accommodate a maximum of 14 guests, plus an open-view kitchen. The tasting menu here showcases the chef’s creative, modern dishes which focus on seasonal ingredients, balance and an attractive play between texture and temperature. Riccardo Merli is the young, talented resident chef who, having gained experience in renowned French restaurants as well a

In the Vigevano countryside, a rustic farmhouse with a portico, almost a private villa, welcomes guests amid antique furniture and paintings by local artists adorning the walls. Enrico Gerli, alongside his wife who oversees the dining room, has since 1989 been dedicated to a classic-modern cuisine executed with commitment and professionalism. He knows the Lombard area intimately, yet proves equally at ease with seafood preparations. Among the specialties are duck and goose, animals typical of the area, which appear in various dishes: a foie gras composition among the starters, braised duck tor

Enrico Bartolini al Mudec

Creative · ★★★ Michelin

In his Milanese restaurant, the headquarters of the Bartolini international galaxy, the great chef – far from taking a break – continues to craft new dishes alongside resident chef Davide Boglioli, always focusing on fullness and intensity of flavors. There's nothing overly cerebral, though you can delve into the layers, references, and echoes if you wish. Or simply enjoy the perfect balance of the results. There are two tasting options: "Best Of" and "Mudec Experience," but dishes can also be selected à la carte. During our last visit, we were particularly struck by the creaminess and harmony

Il Luogo Aimo e Nadia

Italian Contemporary, Modern Cuisine · ★ Michelin

On the Milanese scene for over 60 years, still sought after by those seeking quality cuisine, the restaurant offers two tasting pathways highlighting Italian territory through a modern lens, yet subtly hinting at the origins of its dynamic chefs—Alessandro Negrini and Fabio Pisani—Lombard and Apulian respectively. Beyond the two menus, there are also ‘Heart Dishes’ from Aimo’s kitchen, including the eternal hard wheat spaghetti with fresh spring onion and chilli, graced with a strand of oil and Ligurian basil, a historic signature of the famous founder. Reserve some time to peruse a generous w

Following recent refurbishment, this restaurant in a period building that conjures up an image of old Milan has a bright and colourful feel thanks to its shades of blue, red and green. The courtyard, a small, tranquil space that adds an unexpected touch of greenery to this urban setting, is perfect for a cigar or aperitif. Once inside chef Matias Perdomo’s home, you have a choice between the “Riflesso” menu (traditional dishes yet prepared using modern techniques) and the “Riflessioni” menu (bolder and more innovative options featuring unusual combinations). Contraste’s philosophy lies in the

Creative, Mediterranean Cuisine · ★★ Michelin

From the entrance on Piazza Duomo, you take a lift to this restaurant on the second floor where three long tables are arranged in front of the open-view kitchen so that guests can watch the chefs at work (there are also more traditional tables away from the kitchen if you prefer something more conventional). The Capitaneo brothers from Puglia are at the helm here, serving creative cuisine with the occasional influence from their native region, as well as dishes that also embrace the gastronomic traditions of their adopted city of Milan.

Antica Trattoria del Gallo

A splendid example of a country trattoria, which has been delighting its guests with typical dishes from Lombardy for over a century. Meals are served either in the attractive vintage-style dining room or, in fine weather, outdoors under the Virginia creeper and mature wisteria. Truly enchanting!
