Mor Mu Dong takes its name from its owner, Mor, and the Mu Dong Canal, where it is located. Nestled in a mangrove forest, it is housed in a set of rustic pavilions where diners can enjoy seafood and take in the views that change with the tide. In the open kitchen, tanks of live seafood affirm the freshness of the food. Order 3–4 vibrant dishes to share and enjoy the Southern Thai flavours bursting from them.

Located near Rawai Beach, Mook Manee stands out for its array of live seafood for diners to choose from, including squid, tiger prawns, a variety of crabs, and 3kg Phuket rainbow lobster. The restaurant holds up to 300, but the best seats offer views of the vibrant seafood market trading outside. Menu highlights include the fragrant stir-fried clams with chilli paste. A wooden terrace on the beach is also available.

(The restaurant is temporarily closed.) Samut (or ocean) is set in a traditional Thai-Chinese building decorated in an Oriental style, with dark teak wood. Previously the lobby of the adjacent hotel, it’s now a gastronomic destination. The set menu, with more than 10 dishes, tours the island’s coastline, offering seafood caught by local fishermen. The chef respects the traditions of the island, selecting flavours and fruits inspired by local creativity, including a reinterpretation of Phuket dim sum.
