Its name may suggest Italian cuisine lies in wait, but Acanti in fact offers a refined fusion of modern Polish dishes with influences from across Europe. Italy does make an appearance however, in dishes like the terrific pumpkin ravioli, which exemplifies the kitchen’s ability to delicately balance layers of flavour. Everything takes place in a bright ground-floor dining room and a more seductive, dark-hued basement, both within the Aparthotel T12, a beautiful converted old tenement. The friendly young team adds to the experience.

Tucked away down a cul-de-sac filled with several other eateries, this understandably popular brasserie is underpinned by the flame-centric cooking of the Josper grill. Top-quality produce from jumbo prawns to beef tenderloin are grilled with skill and served with simple, complementary garnishes. Enjoy the cooking on the terrace, in the conservatory or in the main dining room near the buzzing open kitchen. The efficient team run the busy space with skill.

With its sage-green walls, natural wooden furnishings and paintings of Tuscan landscapes, Mela Rossa brings a small slice of Italy to Radom. The chef spent 12 years in ‘Il Bel Paese’ and it shows in authentic dishes showcasing high-quality, well-sourced ingredients cooked with care. The homemade pasta is a highlight, with different shapes thoughtfully paired with the appropriate accompaniment – such as squid-ink trenette with prawns and a bisque-style sauce.

Set in the striking regenerated Geyer Gardens district, this former factory has retained an on-trend industrial edge to its interiors, with the exposed red-brick walls and open kitchen catching the eye. Steaks are at the heart of the menu, cooked over charcoal either on or off the bone and served with a choice of sauces. The quality of the dry-aged meat provides plenty of flavour, with some wagyu options available if you’re looking to celebrate in style.
