Marco Müller’s "Inspiration" tasting menu unfolds as a culinary journey, shaped by a clear personal style and a skilfully constructed narrative arc. The service team explains the ideas behind the dishes in a pleasingly relaxed and informal manner, and is always happy to answer questions. The kitchen works with remarkable precision, yet the cooking retains a sense of effortlessness and balance. With only a few components, the dishes seem minimalist, but are packed with details that lend them exceptional depth. One standout dish is the tender, flawlessly cooked Oldenburg Wagyu with an umami-rich

Don't be fooled by the unassuming-looking exterior of this Neukölln eatery – a very special take on fine dining awaits you inside. The atmosphere in the dimly lit interior is lively and laid-back. Dine either at the counter, with a view into the kitchen, or at one of the surrounding tables. If you're lucky, you'll be given a sneak peek into how one ingredient or another is prepared in the kitchen. The cooking style is quite unique: René Frank and his team apply patisserie techniques. Particularly refined examples include "buttercream with plum, walnut, and dulse" and "grilled peach with pointe

The rather special location on the Landwehrkanal in lively Kreuzberg, among other restaurants and shops, is a draw in itself. Well shielded from the street, a lovely terrace is laid out front. Inside, the atmosphere is intimate and inviting. The combination of period wood panelling and chic, modern design, along with a striking mural by Jim Avignon, draws as much attention as the glass-fronted kitchen. Sebastian Frank puts vegetables at the heart of his cooking. With remarkable inventiveness, he creates compelling flavour profiles from excellent ingredients, sourced wherever possible from the

European cuisine that draws on Asia for inspiration – Tim Raue pulls off this modern and refreshing feat in truly original fashion. This Berlin-born chef has a style that is all his own and certainly unique in Germany. He works with a highly skilled team to turn out his flavourful creations. Diners have a choice of set menus dubbed "Kolibri x Berlin" (a tribute to Berlin) and "Koi", with his signature dishes of "Wasabi Langoustine" and "Duck 'Marie-Anne'" or "Königsberger Klops Grandma Gerda" available in each. There is also a vegan set menu. On Fridays and Saturdays, the restaurant opens earl

A real oasis of calm in the middle of Berlin, right on busy Potsdamer Platz! Up here on the fifth floor of The Mandala Hotel, diners can sit on the pleasant little terrace amid the chestnut trees and fountain – a place to escape the hustle and bustle of the city! And if you eat inside the chic, light and airy rooftop garden restaurant, you almost feel as if you are outdoors thanks to the wraparound glass windows. Beautiful bamboo plants are a nod to Asia. In addition to the location, Facil boasts top-notch cuisine by Michael Kempf (culinary director) and Joachim Gerner (head chef). For instanc

This restaurant is located on Böhmischer Platz, which is a lively little square – the bustling energy of the setting makes the pavement terrace a popular spot in summer. The interior has its own allure: understated yet stylish, with a wonderfully vibrant atmosphere. The charming urban setting is in keeping with the modern, streamlined and often pared-back cuisine; crafted from high-quality ingredients, the dishes are bold and punchy. Alongside the signature dish, "potato, lovage, whey", highlights include "halibut, champagne, Périgord truffle" or "morel, scallop, XO". Behind it all is a dedica

It is worth making your way out to Lichtenberg: up here on the 12th floor of Vienna House Andel's, you have a fantastic view over Berlin. The decor has a chic, urban feel, but also incorporates some striking vintage details, such as the old doors. There are two five-course modern set menus, "Voyage Culinaire" and "Vegetarian"; the former includes, for example, "skrei, celeriac, char caviar" and "flank steak, roasted vegetables, bone marrow". There are several reasons why this restaurant run by the partnership of Maximilian Strohe and Ilona Scholl is so sought-after. First, they have created an attractive interior within this lovely old Kreuzberg building – featuring high stuccoed ceilings, wooden floors, art and quirky wallpaper – not to mention the charming terrace set in the heart of the neighbourhood. Then there is the relaxed yet highly professional service under the direction of Ilona Scholl – the team's constant presence and remarkable enthusiasm create a warm and informal atmosphere.
