Modern Cuisine · ★ Michelin

Tokyo-born chef Shunsuke Shimomura takes diners on a journey through his past, weaving dishes from his experience working around the world with his Japanese roots. The seasonal set menu is full of delights, from delicious clam soup to grilled seasonal vegetables, succulent lamb chop to beef curry. The restaurant fills the ground floor of a contemporary two-storey house, with a minimalist décor that puts the focus firmly on the cooking. A large team provides welcoming and detailed service; the wine list is strong on Burgundy but consider the imaginatively compiled drinks pairing which could als

The logo, fashioned from an N and a W in the shape of a needle flower, stands for Nawa – Thai for innovation. Chefs Joe and Saki Hoshino embrace this concept using modern techniques to produce central Thai cuisine with authentic yet bold flavours, and a seasonal tasting menu of finger food, small bites and modified versions of main courses. The menu changes twice a year. The low-lit dining room has a modern and elegant design.

Tai Yai
Burmese
฿
Opened in 2025 and run by a Burmese team, this tidy, simply decorated restaurant serves Shan cuisine alongside classic Burmese plates. Pork is the main feature, with flavours that are gentle, balanced and clean. The fresh, crunchy and mildly bitter tea leaf salad is a good start to the meal. For a comforting option, the tofu nway noodles, served in a traditional style, are available all day. A reliable spot for well-made Burmese cooking in Bangkok.

Keawloon
Thai · 必比登

Seating just two to three tables per service (twice a day), this intimate home-style Thai restaurant serves traditional recipes from Nakhon Si Thammarat and Sukhothai, inspired by the chef's grandmother's recipes. The menu changes every two months, typically opening with a Southern Thai appetiser: sour fruits, sweetened shrimp and stirred shrimp paste awaken the palate with umami complexity. Dishes come in a family-sharing format. Be sure to book ahead!

Rue Poh
Seafood

Open for over nine years, this family-run seafood restaurant has its roots in the Saen Sombun legacy. Fresh catch is cooked to order and sent out swiftly, in generous portions made for sharing. There are three dining areas, indoors and out, making it a good choice in Bang Na for families. Do not miss their signature stir-fry from a 50-year-old secret recipe – less sweet than many Chon Buri styles, it is prized for its aromas and balanced flavours.

Rark
Thai

Set in a quiet alley, Rark offers an intimate kitchen-side experience. In a buzzy yet unpolished, homely setting—wooden walls, open shelving and the sizzle of the wok within earshot—chefs bring finesse to Thai classics. Dishes such as the mix-it-yourself scallop salad or Thai Wagyu with long pepper showcase bold, layered flavours. The à la carte menu reflects a thoughtful, detail-driven style and a deeply personal approach, creating an atmosphere that feels more like dinner at a friend’s home. Booking ahead is advised.
