This small welcoming restaurant on the famous Scalinata della Costarella in Numana, with a tiny terrace for summer dining and just a few tables, serves delicious cuisine with an imaginative twist. Originally from Sicily, the highly talented owner-chef has spent much of his life in the Marche and has plenty of experience in leading restaurants. Given the limited capacity here, booking is essential, especially in summer.

Over 60 years after the restaurant's opening by his grandmother Andreina, Errico Recanati adds another splendid chapter to the family saga. Set in the elegant interiors of a former farmhouse, the excellent service is gracious, reinforcing the cultural roots of a cuisine where game and grilling have always been central. They seem to be telling the story of the only original elements left: the grill and the fireplace! This building with a minimalist, contemporary design is situated on the edge of the historic centre at the Sant'Erasmo belvedere, from where, in summer, panoramic views extend over Monte Conero and the sea (booking ahead is recommended). In the kitchen, owner-chef Davide Breccia conjures up creative dishes featuring original combinations and mainly inspired by the sea. There are two tasting menus, Iconico and Idee, for guests who like to be guided, plus an à la carte for those who prefer to choose their own courses.

Built on stilts, the Clandestino is a unique restaurant with a simple yet trendy ambience, which overlooks a beautiful unspoilt beach with views of the sea from all the windows and a distinctly romantic feel at night. Here, Moreno Cedroni focuses on gourmet cuisine at lunchtime as well as in the evening. In addition to two tasting menus (Eros & Susci and Susci Memories), for lunch there’s a small à la carte.
