Occupying the premises of a historic local laundry along the city “moat”, this authentic trattoria has a friendly, convivial ambience. The menu showcases local dishes to the full, including specialities such as “tordelli lucchesi” (ravioli stuffed with different meats, thyme and nutmeg and always served with a meat ragù), tripe and bread pudding, the original recipe of which dates back to the 18C. A picturesque outdoor terrace facing San Francesco church and an excellent wine selection complete the picture.

Housed in a charming 19th‑century farmhouse and surrounded by a magnificent garden that delights in every season, Butterfly offers a setting as enchanting as its name suggests. The glass‑enclosed veranda dining room adds further appeal: in summer it opens fully onto the lawn, offering fresh air and relaxation, while in winter it remains closed and heated, still allowing diners to enjoy views of the greenery. In the kitchen, father and son Fabrizio and Andrea Girasoli complement each other with perfect harmony, presenting a wide and versatile menu that confidently balances meat and seafood. The

Having found a home just outside the city in a hillside farmhouse with extensive outdoor summer service, Cristiano Tomei continues to offer his original flavors – with a beloved focus on bitter notes and Parmigiano Reggiano cheese, often combined – through a format based on choosing the number of courses blind (though in reality, diners tend to lose count thanks to the kitchen’s generous spirit). His perhaps most signature dish remains: the Bistecca Primitiva. The dining room provides warm service, with staff well-inclined to offer the necessary explanations.
