Don't be fooled by the rather unspectacular exterior of this corner-plot building! Once inside, you will be immersed in a Far Eastern-style minimalist setting and have the chance to savour Nakagawa's Japanese creative cuisine, which draws on contemporary and French influences. Choose from set menus and à la carte options – sushi and vegetarian dishes are also present and correct. Only fish of the finest quality makes the cut. Professional service comes courtesy of polite, friendly waitstaff, who will gladly provide sake recommendations.

This long-standing inn in Stuttgart's Bad Cannstatt district is in one of the area's oldest half-timbered buildings, dating back to the 15C. The setting is cosy and rustic, with lots of aged wood creating a charming, old-world atmosphere. The kitchen is headed by Can Basar, who previously worked at several renowned establishments. The menu includes seasonal and international cuisine alongside timeless classics – the roast beef is a favourite. In addition to an à la carte selection, there is also a four- or five-course set menu.

It's a real pleasure to eat here, and there's a good reason for that: chef-patron Daniel Stübler clearly puts his heart and soul into running his cosy little restaurant. He cooks up excellent regional and international dishes, and also does the serving himself – not only is he highly accomplished at what he does, he is also an extremely cordial host and single-handedly creates a fantastic atmosphere! The carefully curated wine list is also remarkable, featuring wines from Baden-Württemberg, Baden and the Palatinate only.
