Coombeshead Farm
Country cooking
£££
Set on a working farm, in 66 acres of meadows and woodland, this former farmhouse and dairy offers the ultimate field-to-fork experience. A focal wood fire and animal skins over the chairs, combined with artisan pottery and antique cutlery, all help to create a warm, rustic feel. The cooking techniques include curing, pickling and grilling over fire, with the home-bred meats and home-baked sourdough being particular hits. Smooth service comes from a bright young team and you can stay overnight in the bedrooms, which have a cosy farmhouse style.
