A unique dining option, occupying the former fish auction house in Portosín. Here, full homage is paid to the building’s history, with fish (grilled dishes are the only option) taking centre stage, although seafood and some meats are also available. The restaurant takes its name from the northeasterly wind (“nordés”) that is a frequent occurrence in the fishing waters of the Rías Baixas.

Once in a while you come across a truly pleasant surprise in a rural setting run by chefs who have returned to their roots with the sole aim of showcasing what they have learnt elsewhere. This is definitely the case with couple Fernando and Eva, two cooks (although she is also in charge of the dining room service) who have restored her grandmother’s house and created their own vegetable garden (which also includes a greenhouse). Their contemporary cuisine has plenty of personality and is centred around a single seasonal vegetarian menu. We loved the roasted aubergines with miso!

A family-owned restaurant that is particularly popular in the region. It features a busy wine bar, with a few tables for tapas, an impeccably laid out dining room adorned with a beautiful mural of the bucolic Maceira bridge (just a few kilometres away and a must for a visit), as well as a spectacular glass-fronted wine cellar. In the kitchen, the focus is on honest and traditional Galician cuisine which stands out for its use of local ingredients and the quality of its meats.
