Frank Seyfried, previously at Gotthardt's in Koblenz, runs the kitchen, serving up a contemporary take on classic cuisine. Housed in a stately villa in the Bürgerpark, this restaurant exudes elegance. The open reception area with its gorgeous wooden staircase creates an immediate welcoming impression. High stuccoed ceilings, lovely hardwood floors, muted colours, striking chandeliers and decorative modern pictures make for an atmospheric setting. Waitstaff are friendly and experienced. The menu features brasserie-style dishes inspired by classic French recipes – the bouillabaisse or beef bourguignon are a real treat!

This restaurant in the Atlantic Grand Hotel has a tastefully sleek interior, with dark wood panelling, large modern fixtures, as well as designer upholstered chairs in red and brown. The conservatory extension is also a lovely spot, as is the courtyard garden in fine weather – an Alpine-style hut is erected here every winter. The menu features classic dishes with a modern twist, plus classics such as schnitzel. Incidentally, the crockery is custom-made in Bremen. The location in the old town is ideal, with all the main attractions – the Weser River, Schnoor, Rathaus, Kunsthalle – just a short
