Chef-patron Holger Stehr serves up his interesting take on modern cuisine in the form of a five- to eight-course set menu, skilfully combining building on classic French foundations with Far Eastern-Japanese influences. Diners are welcomed by hostess Martina Kraemer-Stehr, who is trained as a sommelier and responsible for the friendly and proficient service. The Hegmanns run this genuinely charming restaurant that is a hit with diners. Only the best produce makes its way into the dishes, which are meticulously prepared to bring out the full flavour of the ingredients. On Fri-Sun, two four- to eight-course seasonal set menus, one of which is vegetarian, are served. On Mon, tapas menu only – to be washed down with something from the promising wine selection. Extremely friendly waitstaff. Tip: The chef's table is very close to the kitchen but sheltered from the thick of the action.
