Still on the plain, yet already at the foot of the hills that can be glimpsed on the horizon, what from the outside presents itself as a typical country house surprises within with an elegant dining room that opens into a sort of veranda overlooking the garden and the greenery of the lower Piacenza countryside. The atmosphere is relaxed and most agreeable, ideally suited to a refined yet never formal lunch or dinner. The menu features references to local ingredients and recipes, alongside the excellent focaccia with ciccioli served among the bread course, a true speciality of the house. The co

Novo Osteria

Originally a monastery, this building dating back to the 11C was later transformed into an inn. Having closed at the beginning of this century, the building has now been fully renovated and restored to its original function, while retaining much of its original architecture. In addition to the restaurant, which serves traditional local cuisine with a modern focus and plenty of flavour (we particularly enjoyed the savoury zabaglione gnocchi with porcini mushrooms, Jerusalem artichokes and currants), there are also seven guestrooms available in the adjoining Locanda Borgo Impero.

In an enchanting bucolic setting at the foot of the hills, this family-run trattoria – established in 1939 and now in its third generation – offers a cuisine deeply rooted in its territory.The menu celebrates the great classics of the tradition, from charcuterie to roasts and boiled meats, but it is above all the handmade fresh pasta and the almond cake served with zabaione that merit particular attention.In fine weather, the outdoor veranda provides a pleasant open-air space. For those wishing to extend the experience, the trattoria’s own-produced charcuterie is available to purchase.

The restaurant trade is in the family genes: already an inn in the 19C, the Prato Gaio takes inspiration from the cuisine of the Oltrepò region. A selection of traditional specialities alongside dishes reinterpreted with flair and imagination are served. An essential stop for anyone looking for local flavour.

Housed in a charming palazzo with an Art Nouveau façade overlooking the main square of the village, this restaurant has an unexpectedly modern and minimalist-style interior. The menu features an impressive selection of fine local charcuterie (including coppa, pancetta and salami), as well as anolini pasta in broth and ricotta and spinach tortelli. The quality of the meat is outstanding.

In the heart of the town, guests are received with professionalism and gracious warmth in a lively setting, carefully considered in its details and characterised by a measured elegance. The gastronomic offering moves within the tradition, reinterpreted with a contemporary sensitivity, alternating between dishes from the land and the sea. With the arrival of the warmer months, the experience is further enriched by tables set out in the pleasant internal courtyard or on the terrace, ideal for savouring the atmosphere to the full.

In the heart of a medieval village, an inn of authentic charm welcomes guests with the captivating aromas of Piacenza cuisine and imaginative creations that surprise the palate, accompanied by local wines and distinguished labels from beyond the region. Heritage dishes speak of time-honored flavors, revisited with modern touches, while the inspector’s favorite remains the grilled cardoncelli mushrooms: intense aroma and pure taste. In the dining room, Sabrina radiates energy and smiles, presenting each dish with infectious passion. On winter evenings, crackling fireplaces warm the atmosphere;
