Apicius
Modern Cuisine, Classic Cuisine · ★ Michelin
€€€
Apicius is the culinary triumph of chef Thorvald and host Gaylord de Winter. The brothers have consistently held at least one MICHELIN star every year since 2003. Good taste is in their DNA, and their expertise shines through in the tiniest details – from the perfectly chosen Burgundy to pair with a fish dish, to the velvety pistachio ice cream complementing an exotic dessert. Chef Thorvald has a true knack for the classics. Exceptional ingredients are the foundation of his cuisine. He keeps fish preparation simple and straightforward: he sears it skin-side down – just long enough – and elevat

Le Moulin
Traditional Cuisine, Classic French
€€
Le Moulin has been running like a well-oiled machine since 1986, thanks to charming hostess Yvonne and chef Frans Glas. This warm and cosy restaurant makes for an ideal setting in which diners (re)discover the distinctive cuisines of France and Flanders. Ultra-fresh North Sea sole, for instance, is pan-fried à la meunière in time-honoured tradition and served alongside a potato gratin with a golden brown crust. No gimmicks, just authentic flavours and wonderful sauces. Salmon is still smoked according to an old family recipe. And when it comes to wine, you're in great hands with Yvonne.

What they don't grow themselves is sourced from responsible suppliers. This approach presents numerous challenges, but it also inspires chefs to be more creative. They bring each season to life with a new set menu, building on a foundation of ingredients preserved using a variety of methods. Marinated hogweed flowers and a chamomile beurre blanc lend the steamed pike-perch a

Everything about this inviting restaurant makes it clear that Luella and Madelene are passionate about what they do. Luella likes nothing better than to amaze her guests with her contemporary surprise menu. Her dishes revolve around a main ingredient of the finest quality, elaborate garnishes and velvety sauces that bring it all together. The wines recommended by Madelene complement the intense flavours beautifully. This duo's enthusiasm is infectious!
