De Kromme Dissel represents a piece of Dutch culinary history, having retained a MICHELIN Star since 1971. It is set in a 17C Saxon farmhouse that has a charming rustic interior and crackling fireplace that exude timeless warmth. Maître d' Ronnie Brouwer and his team provide attentive service and expert wine recommendations; seasoned chef Tonny Berentsen breathes new life into classic cuisine with creative ideas. Drawing inspiration from his travels through Asia, he elevates a venison jus with five spices to tease extra nuance out of venison saddle. Another standout: succulent quail breast rou

Parc Broekhuizen takes full advantage of the natural beauty that the Utrechtse Heuvelrug has to offer. Dining in this impressive historic country house, overlooking the beautiful estate and ponds, is a special experience. The terrace is a piece of paradise on earth. The relaxed music and subtle modern design give this beautiful setting just what it needs. The chefs break through that tranquillity with distinctive, sometimes daring flavours. They spice up their creative flavour combinations with fresh acids and refined garnishes. For example, they serve langoustine glazed and fried in a tartare

This spacious brasserie has a subtle industrial aesthetic, but its atmosphere is nonetheless thoroughly warm and welcoming. In fine weather, the inviting terrace beckons. On the enticing menu, familiar favourites such as steak tartare feature alongside Mediterranean, South American and Asian dishes. Whether through subtle heat, a refreshing lift of acidity or a full-bodied sauce, the chefs set themselves apart. A shining example is chicken breast from the Josper charcoal oven, topped with a fragrant bumbu Bali, brightened by sambal and a finely balanced sweet-and-sour salad of peanut, carrot a

The sweets that used to be sold in this establishment dating back to the 1700s have given way to delicacies such as lobster and Venus clams. This new direction is reflected in the artistic photographs hanging on the walls of this cosy, intimate-feeling restaurant. Chef Han showcases his ingredients in cutting-edge dishes drawing on solid French foundations and with the odd creative flourish. Take, for instance, his succulent marbré of goose breast and rillette, with the sweet earthiness of textures of beetroot, combined with vibrant pickled mustard seeds and punchy creamed rocket. The drive to this traditional house with a handsome thatched roof, deep in the woods, showcases the magnificent countryside of the Veluwe region. That same charm carries through to the terrace and the atmospheric interior. The cuisine is imaginative, built on playful textures and influences from around the globe. Picture Arctic char served with deep-fried kale and finely sliced green apple, as well as nasturtium, a cucumber pearl, tarragon ice cream and a herb-seasoned buttermilk sauce. The inspired wine recommendations hit the mark every time.

Hotel de Sterrenberg's restaurant draws on its natural surroundings. The interior is sleek yet warm, combining lots of wood with concrete, and a large wooden stag's head that draws the eye. The chef believes in sourcing his produce locally, using local suppliers such as Gert van Eldik and the Veluwe asparagus farm. Diners are served a surprise menu composed of intricate and beautifully presented dishes. Think venison from the region with carefully considered vegetable accompaniments and a game jus enhanced with vermouth. A proud ambassador for the Veluwe!

Dietmar and Elsko's bustling "Restobar" is a cosy, laid-back place where anything goes and nothing is compulsory. Drop in for a casual drink or settle in for a sumptuous dinner. The host presents an excellent wine selection at appealing prices, complementing the chef's à la carte offerings and popular surprise menu. Expect dishes such as kingfish sashimi with a punchy passion fruit and tarragon vinaigrette, medium-rare lamb with a robust lamb jus. This chef has an eye for detail and a solid grasp of the classics, occasionally drawing inspiration from Asia. Good times guaranteed!

Once the town hall, this is the ideal place for convivial dining. Original features provide a striking contrast with the modern design and warm colours. Indulgence is the name of the game when it comes to the food. Whether you opt for the rich lobster bisque, the sea bass with the rich beurre blanc or their contemporary take on tiramisu, you will be bowled over by the skill and charm of Niels Minkman and his team.
