Stephan Möllers's biggest source of inspiration lies a little further away, in his generously sized vegetable garden. He likes to express his creativity by preparing vegetables so that they yield the right acidity or spiciness to bring out the best of the main ingredient – letting it speak for itself. Tante Kee is a firm favourite. Nestled on a scenic island accessible by ferry, its setting is picture-perfect, with small boats mooring right beside the terrace. The interior is stylish; the exterior has a magical atmosphere. The cuisine is in step with the times and enriched with subtle Asian accents. Think fresh, hand-cut veal tartare with a judicious touch of gochujang providing a spicy Korean kick and a Dutch soya jelly. Impeccable service rounds off the experience. This is one of those warmly inviting places where everything is just right.
