The location looking out over St Brelade's Bay is magnificent, with the terrace in particular offering some of the finest sea views you'll find – and the food is a perfect match for the setting, with bright, fresh dishes featuring top-drawer seafood. Jersey rock oysters are an obvious must-order, but the rest of the dishes are equally enticing; it's worth keeping an eye on the fish of the day and if you order the terrific crab taglierini, you won't be disappointed.

He refurbished the premises and, whether out on the pleasant terrace or inside (exposed stone, brick or white walls), you will enjoy the cooking of this experienced chef, who is clearly all about regaling diners – without unnecessary frills: poached egg and girolles with parsley, smoke-infused milk and croutons; glazed duck leg, aubergine caviar and curry.
