Built in 1856, this charming timber house with three dining areas is a really pleasant alternative to the other restaurants run by the Bolkart-Fetz family in Oberstdorf. Only ingredients sourced from within Germany – and preferably from the region – go into the dishes on the traditional menu, including some excellent game options. As well as the three- or four-course "Prinzregentenmenü", there is a range of à la carte dishes to choose from. Very nice selection of wines. Head for the lovely beer garden shaded by chestnut trees.

Das Maxi has proven to be a successful addition to Das Freiberg hotel and is an appealing dining option – and not only for hotel guests. The kitchen specialises in contemporary, mostly Mediterranean dishes with seasonal influences. In addition to the set menu, which changes daily, there is also a small à la carte selection. Food is served in tastefully designed dining areas, and there is additional garden seating available for the summer months. The wine list, featuring international labels, is second to none. The gorgeous guestrooms have magnificent views of the mountains.

The Alpenhof Jäger hotel's restaurant may be small but what it lacks in size it makes up for in atmosphere! With plenty of wood, a tiled stove and pretty decorations, the cosy and homely Humbachstube is completely in keeping with the rustic charm of the 380-year-old regional-style building in which it is located.
