Hotel Tuchmacher, ensconced in a pretty Renaissance town house with this delightfully cosy restaurant, is an institution here in Görlitz. The classic regional menu includes dishes such as Wiener schnitzel, stewed rabbit leg on Leipziger Allerlei vegetables, and stewed brook trout roll on pickled vegetables. There has been a hotel on this site, perched on the Kazalnica hill, since 1899. Today called the Hotel Seidorf, it hosts this slightly formal restaurant with linen-laid tables and emblemed napkins. If there’s the opportunity to sit on the terrace, make sure you take it to absorb the stunning scenery. The cooking brings a refined touch to classic dishes, such as breaded pork loin with mashed potato, without losing their comforting feel and satisfying flavours.
