Originally opened in 1903 as Schweizer Hof, this restaurant is housed in a painstakingly restored listed building. In the aesthetically pleasing Jugendstil setting of this neighbourhood restaurant, the atmosphere is welcoming, thanks in no small part to the charming staff. A well-coordinated team in both the kitchen and front of house ensures a wonderful evening. Savour the five- to seven-course set menu, which also comes in a vegetarian version. The flavoursome dishes showcase precise technique and high-quality ingredients. There is a well-curated wine list, as well as pairings by the glass.

For years this has been a favourite in the city, drawing plenty of loyal regulars and newcomers alike. In his cosy restaurant in the Degerloch neighbourhood, Patrick Giboin presents his take on classic French cuisine both as a set menu and à la carte. Vegetarians are also well catered for, and children's menus are available, too. At lunchtime during the week, the prices are somewhat lower – the Zwiebelrostbraten (fried beef and onions in gravy) is especially popular. Tables on the terrace are coveted in summer.

On the first floor of the culture and congress centre, Forum am Schlosspark, an interesting restaurant and wine bar concept awaits you. The cuisine is modern, seasonal and international, but also has classical influences; dishes can be ordered as a set menu or à la carte. Good wines, friendly, attentive service and a chic, light and airy space. The terrace with a view over Kastanienallee is delightful. If you are coming by car, you can park on the Bärenwiese opposite.
