The Kavaliersbau (squire's lodge) of Hohenheim Castle, in a quiet location outside the city, is a haven for the discerning foodie. This is thanks in no small part to Stefan Gschwendtner, who moves with the times in his bold, precisely crafted, very intelligently structured dishes, without ever succumbing to fleeting culinary trends. His distinctive style shines through in creations such as "matjes-style lake trout, cucumber, wild garlic, crème fraîche" and "veal sweetbreads from Provence, Filderkraut cabbage, mushrooms, apple". The set menu comprises seven courses. On Mondays, Thursdays and Su

Michelin-starred Greek cuisine? "Modern Greek cuisine" is what it says on the front door, and that's what you get at this charming, tastefully decorated restaurant run by a husband-and-wife team. The dishes are sophisticated and rich in flavour, interspersed with French influences and the light touch of Mediterranean cuisine. Chef Joannis Malathounis clearly draws inspiration from his Hellenic roots, yet he never relies on them too heavily. It's exciting to see this interpretation of Greek cuisine. There are two 4- to 5-course menus, one of which is vegetarian. In the cosy dining rooms, guests

Having made a name for itself decades ago, this restaurant is a local institution. It specialises in both fine dining and traditional Swabian fare that is made with high-quality ingredients, delicious and reasonably priced. The Maultaschen are a standout. When it comes to meat products, they have their own on-site butcher shop to fall back on. The specials, which change every day, are especially popular. Although dominated by regional selections, the wine list also boasts a range of Bordeaux, including some iconic names. Tip: Pick up some soups, sauces, sausages and meats from their shop. The

The tastefully modern restaurant of Neckartal business hotel is run with dedication. The regional cuisine draws on international influences and is made using top-notch seasonal produce. In addition to the menu, there are also daily specials presented verbally. Owner Bernd Nödinger brings not only professional competence but also a friendly and personal touch to the service. The beverage recommendations are also spot on – thanks to the Coravin system, you can even enjoy high-quality wines by the glass. There is a delightful terrace in summer, and that space gives way to the Tafelhütte event ven

At this well-run, rustic-style restaurant located in the town centre, Johannes Füller serves up regionally influenced cuisine strewn with international touches. The dishes are lovingly prepared and delicious – the speciality is Rostbraten (roast beef with all the trimmings). You can choose between a set menu and à la carte options. Simpler and shorter lunchtime menu. From some tables you can steal glimpses into the kitchen. In summer, the courtyard is a charming spot.

This family-run business in the Hedelfingen district has been renowned for its fine cuisine for many years and is popular with older and younger diners alike. It all began in 1985 with Susanne and Hendrik Schallmeir, and now their son Gabriel and his wife Lia – the second generation – have joined the team. In the small open kitchen, father and son work like a well-oiled machine, upholding Swabian culinary traditions while embracing inspiration from modern international cuisine. Their menu ranges from classics such as Zwiebelrostbraten (braised beef with onions and gravy) and Kässpätzle, to Kal
