In a prime location in the Palmenhaus, adjacent to the Palmengarten, Andreas Krolik applies his personal signature to top-notch ingredients to produce highly sophisticated dishes with complex flavour profiles, such as tender braised Wagyu short ribs with a punchy truffle sauce, flavoursome autumn truffles and a fine corn purée, along with spicy paprika chutney and mildly sweet braised balsamic onions. In the evening, the "Grands Produits" and "Ethical Vegan Cuisine" set menus are served – the latter is testament to the chef's passion for plant-based cooking. At lunchtime, there are two appeali

For years, owner André Großfeld and the proficient team led by head chef Philippe Giar have been putting their heart and soul into running the elegant Villa Merton, establishing a real destination for connoisseurs. Their cooking style could be summed up as creative, passionate and regionally influenced. The quality of the ingredients is second to none. With its ceiling mouldings, hardwood floors and stylish details, this listed villa in the elegant diplomatic quarter makes for a prestigious setting. To the rear of the building there is a gorgeous terrace. The friendly, professional staff are a

Savoir-vivre in Frankfurt! Valéry Mathis's modern and seasonally influenced French cuisine has been held in high esteem for many years. Flavoursome and expertly prepared dishes are served in a charming bistro atmosphere, which is enhanced by the authentic interior with wood panelling and decorative details. Friendly and down-to-earth yet highly competent service courtesy of the team led by owner Eric Huber. You can also look forward to savvy wine recommendations – the emphasis here is on French labels. There is also a delightful terrace. It is no accident that this place is so popular!

A great location in the heart of Frankfurt. Take the lift up to the 53rd floor and bag a table by the window to experience a view you don't often get to enjoy – the panorama over the rooftops of "Mainhatten" is downright spectacular! The cuisine is equally impressive. A modern set menu comprising five to seven expressive courses is on offer. The clear Asian, mainly Japanese influences can be seen, for example, in "Ikejime Hamachi, Gamba Blanca, Wasabi, 20 year old matured Mirin". First-class product quality. You can sip an aperitif in the lounge before dinner (from 9pm you are also welcome jus

Located in the heart of the city – albeit somewhat tucked away – this appealing bistro is a lively place with really good food. AndrÉ Rickert (known from the "Weinsinn") forms the dual leadership in the kitchen together with Janina Allgaier. Theirculinary style is pleasingly down to earth yet sophisticated in terms of craftsmanship. Vegetarians are also well catered for. The service comes courtesy of a laid-back yet highly competent front-of-house-team who provide astute wine recommendations for the set menu. Tip: book early to avoid disappointment!

Having already proved their culinary credentials in their restaurants Weinsinn and Gustav (now closed), Matthias Scheiber and Milica Trajkovska Scheiber have created an exciting new concept here on the premises of Weinsinn – a kind of fusion of their previous ventures. The atmosphere is airy, inviting and friendly. Done out in Bauhaus style, the chic, upscale interior features various artistic details that provide decorative touches. The open kitchen turns out a diverse range of highly distinctive seasonal dishes. These are ingredient-led and pared down to a few components, a case in point bei

Located in the centre of Bahnhofsviertel – a stone's throw from Moseleck, a legendary rustic pub – this pleasingly unpretentious establishment is a delightfully laid-back setting in which to savour good food or a cocktail. Dishes are designed for sharing. Options range from the hearty "quail, demi-glace, flatbread" (eating with your hands is allowed) to the more sophisticated "crudo, blood orange, horseradish". Be sure to sample something from the cocktail menu! "Yaldy", by the way, is a Scottish exclamation of excitement and enthusiasm. Tip: Definitely make a reservation – this place is alway

Located just outside Frankfurt, north of the Palmengarten, Bistro Villa Merton is a lovely alternative to the fine dining restaurant. While the latter welcomes diners in the evening, the bistro is only open at lunchtime. In the spruce villa built in neo-Baroque style, you can take a seat in an inviting decor done out with an elegant touch to enjoy high-quality regional and international cuisine infused with seasonal influences. An appealing lunchtime set menu is on offer, as well as several à la carte options. The appetising dishes include breast and leg of guinea fowl and classics such as Wie
