Oettinger's Restaurant
Modern French, Country cooking · ★ Michelin
€€€€
The Oettinger brothers bring great dedication to the running of this family business, whose history stretches back over 150 years. Michael Oettinger's contemporary take on classic French-inspired cuisine revolves around excellent produce – such as superb French Challans duck, the pink-roasted breast of which is wonderfully showcased with preserved lemon, okra pods and sweet potato. The two set menus comprise three to five courses – you can also swap or add on dishes. On Wednesdays, the restaurant serves exclusively the very reasonably priced two- or three-course "Midweek Special Menu" – an ide

Zum Ackerbürger Can Basar
International, Seasonal Cuisine
€€
This long-standing inn in Stuttgart's Bad Cannstatt district is in one of the area's oldest half-timbered buildings, dating back to the 15C. The setting is cosy and rustic, with lots of aged wood creating a charming, old-world atmosphere. The kitchen is headed by Can Basar, who previously worked at several renowned establishments. The menu includes seasonal and international cuisine alongside timeless classics – the roast beef is a favourite. In addition to an à la carte selection, there is also a four- or five-course set menu.

Nannina
Italian
€€
In her tiny restaurant, host Giovanna Di Tommaso (known as Nannina) devotes herself tirelessly to her passion: Italian cuisine. Prepared with fresh high-quality ingredients, her dishes are ambitious and packed with flavour. As well as an extensive à la carte menu, there are three different set menus – one for two or more people and another for four. Delightful terrace to the rear of the building. Practical: The restaurant has its own car park.

Don't be fooled by the rather unspectacular exterior of this corner-plot building! Once inside, you will be immersed in a Far Eastern-style minimalist setting and have the chance to savour Nakagawa's Japanese creative cuisine, which draws on contemporary and French influences. Choose from set menus and à la carte options – sushi and vegetarian dishes are also present and correct. Only fish of the finest quality makes the cut. Professional service comes courtesy of polite, friendly waitstaff, who will gladly provide sake recommendations.

For car enthusiasts who are fans of quality cuisine: here you can take in views of the Porsche Museum or Porscheplatz as you tuck into Mediterranean and international fare such as pluma bellota Ibérico taco with pineapple and pink peppercorn chutney, or barbecued US prime beef. You can also opt for a six- or nine-course tasting menu. The open kitchen offers some fascinating insights. Impressive wine list comprising over 500 items. A lift takes you straight from the car park to the restaurant on the third floor.
