A delightful inn that fits perfectly into its surroundings. Erik Metzger serves up classic dishes that are replete with harmonious flavour combinations, steering clear of unnecessary frills. The cosy interior has bags of charm with its traditional look, and diners can look forward to attentive service. Host Matthias Gugeler is the welcoming face of the restaurant: his efficient front-of-house team serves with a personal touch and helps you find your way around the wine list. Manuela and Franz Feckl are truly exemplary hosts. They have been running their establishment since 1985 and their dedication is plain to see – not least when it comes to the food. The dishes display a sure touch and stand out for their premium ingredients and first-rate technical skill. The cuisine is predominantly classic French but includes some beloved regional specialities. Both a low-carb and a vegetarian version of the set menu are available. The reasonably priced lunch deal is also popular. Wine lovers will appreciate the good selection here, which features one or two rarities. The ele

Maximilian and Marie-Luise Schranner's establishment is a haven of comfort and calm. They have lovingly transformed this traditional inn with a tasteful interior design concept. At the helm, Maximilian Schranner specialises in classic cuisine and proposes three set menus: the "Menü Gourmet", the "Menü vegetarisch" and the "Wirthaus-Menü" – but you can also order dishes from these à la carte. There is also a very reasonably priced set menu at lunchtime. On warm days, the gorgeous terrace on the Seebach with its views of the castle is a particular highlight.

Farm to table, Regional Cuisine
€€
Nestled in the heart of Steinenbronn, this family-run establishment has been welcoming diners for many years. Here, modernity meets tradition in both the decor and the cuisine. The menu features timeless classics such as pork fillet in a creamy sauce, alongside more ambitious dishes, some made with game that they hunt themselves. For a pleasant, laid-back alternative, head to Krönle – the options written up on the board are very reasonably priced. Some house-made food items such as greaves lard spread, tripe, spaetzle, sauces and maultaschen can be purchased to take home. Decent guestrooms.

Everything here is "100% Swabian". All the ingredients come from Württemberg, and the menu is entirely dedicated to regional fare. If you are ordering à la carte, you pick your main dish by its key ingredient (eg beef, game or freshwater fish) and it comes served on a special ash wood tiered platter that was custom-made for the restaurant. The glass partition means there are interesting glimpses into the kitchen, plus the service is very cordial. The vaulted cellar houses a further restaurant, Wild, where a seasonal set menu featuring game is served on Friday evenings. At dinnertime Tue-Thu, t

Here, the Swabian Jura theme is writ large. The menu changes with the seasons and puts the emphasis on top-quality ingredients, most of which are sourced from the surrounding area. A huge panorama of the Swabian Jura landscape is the most striking feature of the modern yet cosy dining area – it couldn't be more apt. Tip: Given the restaurant's proximity to OUTLETCITY, keen shoppers might consider an overnight stay in one of the hotel's stylish guestrooms.
