Brasserie N4
Modern French, Modern Cuisine · 必比登
€€
This friendly family brasserie is not far from the busy N4 highway, but as soon as you see the rolling Ardennes countryside, your peace of mind is restored. The interior is steeped in the charm and nostalgia of the inns of yesteryear. Chef Frédéric Bolis finds his inspiration in purebred French classics, to which he is not averse to adding a generous modern spin. Perfectly poached egg in velvety mushroom soup with wild mushrooms and gutsy Ardennes cured ham: the quintessence of fine country fare, as is the case of the meat cooked in a Josper charcoal oven and the punchy sauces. Les Plats Canailles de la Bleue Maison
French, Farm to table
€€€
The picture postcard scene features a blue-shuttered gingerbread house poised between two rivers. The exquisite neo-rustic interior exudes a romantic vibe. Brice and Martin Thiry have added gusto and verve to this family business. They favour local produce and juggle with modern flavours such as acidity whilst respecting the ethos of traditional recipes. So, fancy sharing a rib of beef, carved in front of you, washed down with a glass of full-bodied wine? Good food and good vibes are the backbone of this endearing eatery.

L'adresse
Modern Cuisine
€€€
This trendy, stylish establishment is now the lair of chef Julien Malaisse who has added a wealth of nuances and high-flying precision to the culinary lineup. A single set menu guarantees maximum freshness, as the deftly crafted dishes illustrate. The chef uses honest, hearty ingredients which he aims to subtly enhance. Marinated salmon trout is quickly grilled, before he adds a zest of lemon, pairing it with kiwi sorbet, fresh fennel and a subtle aniseed-flavoured creamy sauce. Vibrant, punchy cuisine courtesy of deft, delicate craftsmanship.

Magali and Guillaume Lempens’ colourful venue is the quintessence of comfortable and steeped in feelgood vibes, a large proportion of which are courtesy of their bistronomic cuisine. The latter includes fried cod flanked by a subtle bouillabaisse, white asparagus, homemade gnocchi and a knockout aioli mayonnaise. Big-boned, punchy sauces and impeccable technique bear witness to the experience of seasoned chef Guillaume. Rather than fussy frills, you can expect wholehearted authenticity and no-nonsense rustic fare.

Le Jardin de la Gaichel
Classic Cuisine
€€€
The cosy Jardin de la Gaichel is perfectly suited to its woodland surroundings and commands a splendid view of the huge garden. The chefs excel at crafting textbook perfect cuisine using traditional produce of outstanding quality, such as premium scallops. Examples include a generous slab of fish glazed in a subtle white wine sauce, while a heady mix of sweet and powerful flavours envelopes Challans duck, carved tableside (by reservation) or an amazing seafood platter (also by reservation)… This is unadulterated, uncensored generosity. We recommend staying overnight in one of the guestrooms to
