Thanks to top-quality local ingredients, well-defined textures and harmonious flavours, everything is so delicious here that you’ll want to try every dish! This restaurant, situated on a large farm-wine estate surrounded by vineyards, olive groves, and even a reservoir, boasts a modern look with hints of Scandinavian design. It is also self-sufficient in vegetables, as it has its own market garden that provides all of its organic ingredients. The constant focus on sustainability results in modern cooking that is based around seasonal ingredients both from the farm estate and the Alentejo. There

Haute cuisine in the heart of the Alentejo? This restaurant is located in the Paço do Morgado de Oliveira, a 14th-century building restored in full respect of its original structure and, in turn, set within the Fitapreta winery, surrounded by vineyards and meadows where cattle graze. Here, in an intimate yet sophisticated setting, the connection between the culinary world and that of viticulture is constant. Upon arrival, you are guided on an immersive journey while the story of the house is told, with aperitifs and stops both on the terrace and in the kitchen, a space that preserves the charm

Located in the historic heart of Estremoz, also known as the “white city” because of its fascinating marbles, this restaurant offers a cosy and intimate ambience, where warm, pure colours create a welcoming atmosphere. From the dining room, it is possible to observe the kitchen in action and see the dishes being crafted, presented in a menu based on sharing plates and two tasting menus (6 and 8 courses). The cuisine on offer ranges from signature dishes and comfort food prepared in a traditional wood oven, with options that change daily.

This centrally located restaurant with a welcoming feel comes as something of a surprise, as it is accessed via a bar- gourmet shop that has the feel of an authentic grocery store. In the rustic-contemporary dining room, featuring exposed wood beams and even a table for two in the fireplace, choose from an extensive menu combining regionally inspired dishes (crispy prawns, scrambled eggs, different black pork recipes) with those with a more international feel, all of which are prepared with a subtle, modern touch. Cheese, sausages and wine from the Estremoz area are available for purchase in t

A restaurant located on the outskirts of Estremoz, on a wine estate (Herdade das Servas) surrounded by vineyards that have been owned by the Serrano Mira family for 13 generations and date back to 1667. The dining space, which is full of character thanks to its vaulted ceiling and fireplace, is keen to combine Alentejan cuisine with touches of modernity. Typical dishes on the menu here include partridge escabeche, dried figs and toasted Alentejo bread; wild boar with rice and mushrooms; and deconstructed cod “à brás” with “molecular” olives. Added bonuses are the pleasant terrace and wines pro

Hidden in a narrow lane in Évora’s historic centre, this discreet bistro holds a compelling experience. It is a family‑run, welcoming space with an Alentejo soul, where the couple Gonçalo Queiroz (chef) and Eugénia Queiroz (front‑of‑house and sommelier) invite diners on a visit to the Origens do Alentejo (Origins of the Alentejo), offering traditional flavours through contemporary presentations and modern techniques. The menu, updated regularly according to the seasonality of regional products, offers à la carte options and two tasting menus (3 and 5 courses). A dish that enchanted us? The ten

At Évora’s northern exit, in an attractive rehabilitated building that once housed a roof-tile factory, this is one of those restaurants that, at first glance alone, invites you to step through its doors. The proposal, under the guidance of the award-winning chef Miguel Rocha Vieira, clearly revolves around Alentejo cuisine, reinterpreting it from a contemporary perspective based on the latest techniques. On the menu, complemented by an executive menu (weekdays), you will find dishes such as Bacalhau com grão (salt-cod with chickpeas), chouriço and estufadinho de línguas e samos (slow-stewed t
