Not far from the Austrian and Italian borders, overlooking a crystal-clear lake surrounded by mountains, Milka represents a magnificent gastronomic synthesis of the territory, interpreted with sensitivity and mastery by Chef David Žefran. His cuisine is built on local ingredients, used in their entirety, following a sustainable and nature-respecting approach. The surprise menu unfolds naturally, marked by the rhythm of the seasons, while the kitchen brigade actively participates in service, presenting each course with detailed and passionate explanations. The Frierss family are renowned for their sausages and other meat products. These wares are on site in their butcher's shop and well-stocked delicatessen, and are also to be found on the menu in this modern restaurant. Barbecued steaks feature among the mouth-watering specialities of the house, but there are fish and vegetarian options prepared in the open kitchen. Good selection of wines. A budget-friendly lunch deal is available, too. The staff are incredibly dedicated and friendly. Tip: You can also have breakfast here.

Old Cellar Bled
Regional Cuisine, Seasonal Cuisine
€€
Ideal for a summer lunch on the terrace, or inside during the evocative winter days when the lake, still and veiled in a light mist, creates an atmosphere of great enchantment. The welcoming interiors, distributed across several rooms, afford comfortable views of the lake’s beauty at every turn. The kitchen specialises above all in freshwater dishes, such as trout salad with potatoes or a flavourful fish soup. Among the main courses, the duck breast from the neighbouring valleys stands out, richly flavoured and served with pumpkin štruklji and an excellent red wine sauce.
