China → Moldova, Republic of

eVisa

A Moldovan visa is required before travel; eVisa application is available. The permitted stay is as approved on the visa.

China is listed by Moldova's MFA among states whose nationals must hold a visa for entry, exit and transit. A waiver may apply if holding a valid visa or residence permit issued by an EU/Schengen state, the UK, the US or Canada, excluding transit visas. Passport should generally be valid for at least 3 months beyond intended stay.

Common questions

Does a Chinese passport holder with a valid US visa need a Moldovan visa for a short tourist/business visit?

Generally no Moldovan visa is required. Moldova's MFA lists China as visa-required, but footnote [2] exempts holders of valid visas issued by the United States; transit visas are excluded and travel must be during the US visa validity.

Can a Chinese ordinary passport holder enter Moldova visa-free without other visas or residence permits?

No. China is listed by Moldova's MFA among states whose nationals must hold a visa for entry, exit and transit; for a short visit, obtain a Moldovan visa before travel, usually via eVisa.

Do Hong Kong SAR passport holders need a visa for short tourist/business travel to Moldova?

No. Moldova's MFA lists Hong Kong SAR as visa-exempt and states the exemption applies only to Hong Kong SAR passport holders; the usual stay is up to 90 days in any 180-day period.

Can Taiwan passport holders enter or transit Moldova?

Sources indicate no: the Wikipedia Visa policy of Moldova page states that entry and transit are refused to Taiwan citizens, citing IATA/Timatic and Moldova's visa-regime page. Because I did not find a direct official English page, confirm with the airline or Moldovan authorities before ticketing.
