- Description
- Transformed into a restaurant for the Universal Exhibition of 1900, Empire, Belle Époque and Art nouveau styles culminate in the charm of a rotunda dining room with a glazed roof and a superb terrace. The business clientele comes here to savour the spirit of a bygone Paris and the ‘country’ air of the Bois de Boulogne. Georges Menut lovingly maintains the image of a “grande dame”, but modernity is ensured with the cooking of chef Frédéric Robert, whose cv includes L’Ambroisie, Le Vivarois and Lucas-Carton, and the desserts of young pastry-chef Joris Vée.

- Review summary
- Located in Suresnes, La Grande Cascade offers classic French cuisine. Reviews highlight a charming atmosphere with a beautiful garden and spacious dining areas. Food quality is generally praised, particularly for traditional dishes and desserts. However, service experiences vary significantly; while some find it perfect and knowledgeable, others report issues with reception, coat check management, and uniform standards. Value perceptions are mixed, with some noting high costs relative to offerings, especially regarding the wine list. It is an elegant venue where consistency in service remains a point of contention among diners.
- Best for
- Suitable for diners seeking an elegant setting and classic cuisine who can tolerate inconsistent service.
