Within the spectacular Villa della Pergola, set among an elegant botanical park overlooking the sea, a contemporary cuisine takes shape that is deeply connected to the territory and to the plant world. Many of the ingredients are sourced directly from the property’s own kitchen garden and biodynamic farm, an expression of an approach that is both distinctive and consistent. Two tasting menus are offered: Terræ, which brings together the signature dishes created by chef Romano during his years at Nove, and Rêverie, the more recent expression of his creative vision. Babette

Mediterranean Cuisine, Ligurian

€€

Situated just beyond the centre of Albenga in a beautiful location right on the beach (with only a small private beach club separating it from the sea), this restaurant has been in business for over 20 years (10 years on this site, and 10 in the town centre before that). It is renowned for its excellent, modern cuisine that focuses on top-quality, fresh and seasonal fish. A lighter (yet equally excellent) menu is also available at lunchtime.

Seafood, Seasonal Cuisine

A tiny gem in the historic center, just steps from the San Michele towers. A very intimate setting, with a refined yet informal atmosphere. The cuisine? Seafood with a seasonal twist, including standouts such as the surprising Brandapolenta: creamy baccala, crispy polenta, taggiasca olive pâté. Reserving a table – especially for outdoor seating – is a must!

Savô

Italian Contemporary

The reopening in 2022 of the Hotel Windsor with its romantic vintage decor, is a real bonus for Laigueglia, especially the hotel’s new gourmet restaurant Savô (which translates as “flavour” in Ligurian dialect). Here, a contemporary dining room and an outdoor space with views of the beach and the sea provide the setting for modern cuisine prepared from regional, seasonal ingredients with a focus on fish (there is also a meat option for each course). The impressive selection of wine and choice of cocktails from the elegant Windsor Bar adds to its appeal.

Pernambucco

Seafood, Classic Cuisine

€€€

This restaurant boasts a garden setting with a pleasant outdoor dining space, plus a long, narrow interior decorated in decidedly classic style. Fish and seafood take pride of place on the menu, with a focus on local fish, including excellent tartare (usually either seabream or tuna, depending on the catch of the day) and shellfish (cooked in salt, baked or grilled). The vegetables are sourced from the restaurant’s own kitchen garden.
