Lab by Sergi Arola

The Penha Longa Resort is an exclusive complex, both due to its location in the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park and its luxurious facilities… boasting views of a golf course! The experience at Lab by Sergi Arola, featuring a cocktail bar and an impressive glass-walled wine cellar, begins with a variety of appetisers or tapas laid out on a large table shaped like Portugal, taking us on a tour of the country’s flavours (usually explained in detail by the chef himself). Open since 1992, this Japanese restaurant is one of the country’s oldest. Its connection to Japanese culture is clear, as Midori means “green”, an obvious reference to the fantastic vegetation surrounding the Penha Longa hotel, merging into the lush mountains of the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park. The offering of talented Chef Pedro Almeida, here served up daily by the young resident chef Tiago Santo, reveals Portuguese cuisine with a Japanes

Undoubtedly a classic! This restaurant is a sure bet for anyone wanting to guarantee a quality meal. Set by the sea on the Estrada do Guincho, the building retains its classic nautical lines, with décor that harmoniously blends wood and light tones. The region’s fish and seafood are naturally the highlight, with traditional dishes such as Bulhão Pato clams, Galician-style octopus and the flavoursome fish-and-seafood cataplana taking centre stage… Alongside the à la carte dishes there are sharing menus for two (Mariscada, Do Mar and Porto de Santa Maria) – and do not hesitate to visit the impre
