Casa Marcial

Creative, Asturian · ★★★ Michelin

€€€€

Ably assisted by two of his sisters (Esther often helps out in the kitchen while Sandra works front of house) and his nephew Jesús, Nacho Manzano invites us on a magical culinary voyage back to his origins, his roots, and the land of his birth, as he draws on the flavours of the Asturias region from a contemporary perspective. In this stunning, remote location surrounded by mountains, Casa Marcial is much more than a restaurant; it bears witness to the close bond the chef forged with his local environment during his childhood. Passion, respect, love and hospitality all contribute to a symphony

El Corral del Indianu

Modern Cuisine · ★ Michelin

This restaurant, occupying the oldest building in Arriondas, has a name that recalls those Asturians who left to find their fortune in the Americas at the end of the 19C, and then returned home wealthy and with a new social status. While the setting is special, with an interior dining room with a rustic-contemporary feel and a second glass-fronted room boasting attractive views of a delightful rear garden, the main attraction here is the culinary expertise of chef José Antonio Campoviejo. This chef’s great passion for cooking is showcased in his attention to detail, flavours and creativity, wit

Narbasu

If you’re keen to find a place in which to “lose yourself” and relax in the purest sense of the word, you won’t find anywhere quite like the Palacio de Rubianes, an authentic 14C Asturian-style property surrounded by verdant meadows and with the impressive summits of the Picos de Europa as a backdrop. Facilities here include attractive guestrooms and impressive market-inspired cooking bearing the signature of Esther and Nacho Manzano. Their cuisine is showcased on an à la carte and on two menus (Tradicional and Narbasu), all of which reveal authentic local flavours and include classic dishes f

Alenda

This delightful rural property, run in friendly fashion by Iñaki Gómez in the kitchen and Lola Palacio front of house, is located in a very small village and is a way of life for this couple who work tirelessly to run the business and cultivate their vegetable garden located next to the restaurant. They put a huge amount of enthusiasm and professionalism into their work which is showcased on three exclusive menus (Castiello, Rodiles and Alenda, the latter an Asturian term that could be translated as “taking time to breathe”) where tradition and authentic Asturian flavours take centre stage. Casa Eutimio

Seafood, Regional Cuisine

€€

Eutimio occupies an attractive property with a homely feel in a unique setting (although parking can occasionally be a problem). The traditionally focused à la carte is centred around fish and seafood, and is enhanced by interesting market-inspired daily suggestions. Several dishes require pre-ordering, such as the “caldereta” of fish and seafood, and the rice with lobster. The same goes for its hugely popular version of the traditional “cachopo” stew (the restaurant’s “Cacholetus” dish won Spain’s inaugural “cachopo” competition).
