The now famous red door ushers you into this temple of Italian cuisine. Once you cross the threshold, stairs lead up to the first floor, where pink walls and a fresco by Francesco Clemente welcome you, as do the friendly front-of-house staff. From here on, the focus is on chef Enrico Crippa's very personal cuisine, presented in three tasting menus (a fourth, shorter menu is available at lunchtime only): one linked closely to the vegetable gardens and the seasons, another intimately connected to the local area, and the last taking you on a journey through Italy and beyond. In the Barbaresco hills, in a characteristic building dating back to 1931 that used to be a nursery school, the large dining room is the stage for a magnificent performance that unfolds over the hills through the glass walls. You can enjoy it even more if you take a few minutes between courses to step out onto the terrace and admire the view which, on clear days, stretches all the way to the Alps. The culinary creations of Maurilio Garola and Marco Lombardo take you on a journey of flavours with refined tasting menus and a rich à la carte menu featuring succulent meat dishes and fresh fish. Just a few kilometers from town, yet already deep in the magic of the hills – and what hills! From here, the gaze stretches across a 360‑degree panorama of some of the area’s most captivating vineyards, their neat rows chasing one another into an unforgettable tableau, made all the more spectacular in autumn. Within the elegant dining rooms, classic in style, the cuisine draws inspiration from seasonality and local traditions, interpreted with skill and passion by a chef with solid foundations. The tasting menu, which can be composed and personalized from the à la carte, allows guests to explo

Named after the birthday of chef Flavio Costa’s twin daughters, 21.9 reflects both his Ligurian origins and his deep ties to Piedmont. Set within a wine estate whose cellar dates back to the 15th century, with sweeping views over vineyards and rolling hills, the restaurant offers a creative cuisine at the crossroads of land and sea, marrying Piedmontese recipes and ingredients with those of Liguria, while also embracing more contemporary influences. In season, a menu dedicated to game is also available.

This attractive restaurant in the heart of Alba, the gastronomic capital of the Langhe, is home to chef Damiano Nigro who has previous experience in Michelin-starred restaurants in the area. The restaurant serves aperitif snacks, tapas and top-quality cocktails alongside its delicious, generously portioned meals which, as you might expect in Piedmont, have a traditional flavour. The pasta, bread, desserts and ice-cream are all homemade, while on our last visit in the summer we particularly enjoyed the maccheroncini with scampi and peppers, and the exquisite Fassona beef with a red-wine sauce a

Major refurbishment at this renowned restaurant has given it the feel of an informal, welcoming contemporary bistro. Don’t miss the “Napule” tasting menu, which offers just four courses that include anchovies, cavatelli pasta and Neapolitan meatballs in a nod to the owner’s origins. Over time, the wine list has been extended and improved, with wines now stored in a new cellar. Some of the ingredients used in the dishes can also be purchased to take home.

Enjoy a warm family welcome at this centrally located restaurant with an internal courtyard, where the menu features a good choice of traditional and authentic dishes full of flavour. The restaurant is run by the same friendly managers as the renowned and popular Boccondivino in Bra, where the Slow Food concept was born. Booking ahead is always a good option.
