There are just a few restaurants capable of creating a connection between food, nature and a love of one’s country, but here chef Tasos Mantis manages to express his full passion for all three through his cooking. The experience starts with a presentation of the stars of the show here, namely the aromatic herbs used in Soil’s dishes, many of which are sourced from the vegetable garden tended by the chef’s father. The cuisine is highlighted on a single tasting menu which showcases creativity and quality, which can be enjoyed either at the chef’s table, in the bright lounge or in the pleasant wi

In this elegant restaurant close to a busy square behind the ancient Panathenaic Stadium, enjoy highly professional service, attractive vaulted dining rooms, and two Mediterranean-inspired terraces perfect for alfresco dining and a romantic candlelit supper. In addition, there’s also a bakery at the front of the establishment offering delicacies baked in ovens distributed around the room, that dispense their enticing aromas to add to the sensorial experience. Renowned chefs Giannis Loukakis and Spiros Pediaditakis run this small space in the charming Pangrati district of the city, where the young and relaxed vibe provides the backdrop for uncomplicated cuisine that is nevertheless ful

Located at the foot of the Parthenon, this restaurant comes as something of a surprise for various reasons. Firstly, for the stunning view from its terrace; secondly, for its setting, in a historic building that was once the country’s first inn, with a decor that ensures a unique experience enabling guests to view its historic vestiges through the glass floor in the dining room; and, lastly, its cuisine, the main attraction, which comes courtesy of chef Patron Petros Dimas and which showcases the country’s gastronomic heritage through dishes that are creative and impeccable technique. This restaurant boasts a concept that takes guests back in time thanks to its focus on the flavours of bygone days. At Pharaoh you won’t find modern cookers as every dish here is cooked using wood or charcoal as in olden days, endowing everything with a sense of simplicity and authenticity. The decor is a show in itself, with its combination of modern and industrial styles, open-view kitchen, plus a spacious balcony on which to enjoy your meal. Chef Manolis Papoutsakis’ cooking revisits Greece’s culinary traditions, but with a contemporary touch, as witnessed in dishes such as Tarama with bott
