Modern Cuisine · ★ Michelin

A charming house, typical of the sort you find in the heart of Megève, a refined decor with an abundance of wood, an elegant counter seating 14 diners: a warm welcome awaits you at Vous! Under the guidance of Julien Gatillon, young chef Jean Pastre delights diners with modern cuisine prepared before their eyes. The finest produce, both local and from further afield, features in dishes such as confit trout with hogweed-scented mousseline and Melba toast; flame-cooked langoustine, celery, hazelnut and boutargue; roast Dombes duck, beetroot, carrot and concentrated jus... Take your time to settle in at your table in this stylish but snug space, in which marble and oak create an authentic and timeless decor. In the fine dining restaurant, chef Alexandre Baule (originally from Isère) brings vegetables to the fore in his bid to elevate Savoie produce. The bistro, open every evening for dinner, rolls out classics: Magland snails, delicately smoked Savoie chestnuts and spruce, or pot-au-feu-style beef with faux filet, tongue and ravioles. Comfortable guestrooms fitted out in chalets await, should you wish to extend your stay.

Flocons de Sel

Emmanuel Renaut fell in love with Haute Savoie as a child, long before achieving his Meilleur Ouvrier de France title, and his predilection for Alpine produce is deeply ingrained (pike, char and whitefish from Lake Geneva, mushrooms and wild herbs, mountain cheeses). At times he has fun subverting the regional cooking that is expected of him – a case in point being his superb langoustines marinated in citron, caviar with zesty grapefruit and gentian roots. Plants are also given an increasingly important role in his cuisine. An enchanting high-altitude chalet at the summit of fine dining.

In the heart of the village, on the pedestrian street next to the church where a large Christmas tree is erected in winter, this converted chalet is home to an authentic Breton eatery. Yvon Madec oysters are served alongside Breton pancakes – buckwheat galettes and wheat flour crêpes – enhanced with Japanese or Savoyard touches, for instance "Breizh Roll" with Reblochon cheese, or raw milk raclette galette. Locally sourced produce, cheese from a refiner in nearby Manigod and a fine selection of ciders and wines… plus wallet-friendly prices.

In the heart of a genuine Alpine village dominated by the Miage peaks, a former bakery has morphed into an understated luxe chalet that is home to a swish, sleek mountain restaurant decked out in wood, stone and velvet with an open kitchen. A plush, muted vibe, cosy bar, glazed cellars, a tearoom and dining for forty. The chef celebrates local produce – fish from Lake Geneva, Douvaine duck, in a single set menu of seasonal inspiration. Spot-on, indulgent and consummately crafted cuisine. Just the ticket for high-flying gastronomy overlooking the “roof of Europe”. Alfresco dining with a view in

From the threshold of this listed 19C farmhouse, you can see Mont Blanc on the horizon. With its mountain-style interior (wood panelling, whitewashed walls, parquet flooring) and traditional cuisine by Florent Meyer (who has worked with Flocons de Sel chef Emmanuel Renaut), the restaurant is an instant hit… This is thanks, in particular, to the vin jaune sauce that envelops the delicious free-range chicken supreme, or the moreish tartiflette with a nod to the village's terroir – a signature starter. Plus a warm welcome awaits you!

Set beside a lake and boasting a magnificent view of Mont Blanc, this chalet has a resolutely understated decor. On the menu, traditional cuisine is given free rein, in dishes such as slow-cooked egg, lentils, smoked diot (pork sausages from the regional repertoire) and a bacon emulsion, or beef bourguignon. In fact, the chef won a competition with his pâté en croûte.

In the upper reaches of the resort, this former 19C farmstead and haven of tranquillity is the lair of Florian and Lauriane Langellier, a youthful couple with an enviable CV (Four Seasons and Flocons de Sel (Megève), L'Armancette and finally Père Bise with Jean Sulpice where he worked as a pastry chef and she was in the front-of-house). The set menu showcases local produce from the lakes (arctic char), rivers (crayfish) and forests (game in season), without forgetting forays to Italy (Piedmont hazelnut gnocchi and Colonnata bacon).
