Breathtaking 180° views of the Val Venosta provide the theatrical setting for Gerhard Wieser’s culinary talents at this restaurant. The chef’s cuisine is as precise as a Swiss clock yet full of international influences, with ingredients transformed into small masterpieces thanks to impeccable techniques and an elegant flair. His most memorable creations include red prawn tail cooked over a wood fire and served glazed, on top of a pea mixture (served plain, with cream or with olive oil) flavoured with chorizo sauce. To complete your dining experience, talented and attentive sommelier Ivana is o

As you cross the threshold into this restaurant, you come into an elegant Art Nouveau-style dining room with sparkling chandeliers, patterned flooring and other fascinating retro details that make this a real gem. Owner-chef Andrea Fenoglio is the heart and soul of Sissi, dividing his time between the kitchen and front of house so that he can take time to chat with guests. His cuisine has solid classic foundations with a contemporary and personalised touch, and a good choice of dishes on the à la carte, plus a tasting menu (“Settepiatti”) which changes every year (as does the ceramic tableware

The name of this restaurant gives a good indication of the experience you can expect here: a culinary voyage through the chef’s varied selection of recipes and ingredients, some from the Alps, others from countries across the globe. Dishes are served on tasting menus of five, seven or nine courses in a quiet dining room with just a few tables, where the chef himself explains his dishes to guests.

Schlosswirt Forst is a charming 16th-century residence housing a traditional restaurant, some rooms, and most notably, the Luisl Stube: a small gem set among beautiful antique woods and traditional chandeliers of a historic stube. With more candles than tables (only 4), it offers a truly intimate and timelessly romantic atmosphere. The culinary approach is contemporary, thanks to chef Luis Haller, who explores local products while also incorporating some exotic or seafood ingredients. He offers two tasting menus – one vegetarian and the other with animal proteins – that can be mixed as if they

The menu here focuses mainly on local ingredients which are carefully prepared without too many creative twists, resulting in delicious and generous dishes such as braised beef with a Lagrein sauce (accompanied by rice and vegetables). All the attractive guestrooms have a balcony and the same stunning view.

Young yet already remarkably mature, Christoph Huber brings fresh energy to the Blue Grape (Blaue Traube), a historic establishment with roots reaching back to the seventeenth century. His is a contemporary cuisine that engages with South Tyrolean tradition without nostalgia, but with an informed and cultured perspective: rigorously selected local products, techniques such as fermentation to lend depth, and a precise vision that weaves together terroir and modern sensitivity. Hospitality is calibrated with, never excessive, care in perfect harmony with a setting that preserves the charm of his
