Guests highly praise the prime location, warm family-run hospitality, and clean, comfortable rooms. Breakfast is generally well-received, complemented by free parking. Minor drawbacks include occasional breakfast replenishment delays, limited room amenities, compact spaces, and nearby construction noise.

The picturesque location on the Obersalzberg, at around 1 000m above sea level, affords a fantastic mountain panorama for diners to take in. But the fine dining restaurant of the luxurious Kempinski Hotel Berchtesgaden has plenty more to offer than the view. First, the chic interior with its elegantly pared-down and modern design draws on a colour palette of soothing dark tones. Then there are the culinary creations of Ulrich Heimann. His cooking is modern European in style, regionally influenced and shaped by high-quality ingredients from the Alpine region. The tasting menu consists of five o

Set against a stunning mountain backdrop, the multifaceted Kulturhof encompasses a hotel and restaurant, event facilities and cultural offerings. The modern timber architecture reflects the beautiful surrounding nature of Berchtesgaden. In the fine dining restaurant, too, pale wood and clean lines characterise the interior, and large windows make for a bright and airy feel. Chef Zsolt Fodor, who hails from Hungary, uses top-notch ingredients to cook up sophisticated, flavourful dishes in the form of a pair of astutely composed six- or eight-course set menu (one is vegetarian). The Gasthaus, which annexes the Kulturhof Stanggass located on the road between Bischofswiesen and Berchtesgaden, offers a culinary alternative to the restaurant Solo Du. Done out in light wood, the minimalist-style interior has a modern yet cosy feel. The glass façade affords views of the garden, which includes a children's playground. Book a spot at the "Stammtisch", a long handmade wooden table for 25 diners. The menu draws on the region and nature's bounty – the ingredients are locally sourced. The good food is complemented by friendly service.

In 2020, following stints at top-flight establishments, Andrea and Robert Rübsam fulfilled their dream of opening their own restaurant, which is located in a picturesque and tranquil spot some 20min south of Salzburg. Their culinary approach is grounded in seasonality and local sourcing, with 25 regional producers supplying fresh top-notch ingredients. The dishes reflect Austrian tradition, elevated with imaginative twists and influences from around the globe. The menu is written up on a board, featuring options such as "Gazpacho andaluz, bell pepper, jalapeño, croutons", "Pickled trout, cucum

A self-proclaimed "lodge hotel for gourmets", Langwies Wirtshaus combines several facilities under one roof: a restaurant, a spa hotel, a conference centre and long-stay apartments. The menu features a contemporary selection of regional classics, steaks and seasonal dishes, as well as vegan and vegetarian options. There are several attractive dining spaces – for example, you can book a table in the cosy, spruce-panelled bay room.

Overlooking Berchtesgaden, surrounded by stunning natural beauty and with a magnificent mountain backdrop, the location is to die for! At the restaurant of the luxurious Kempinski Hotel Berchtesgaden, you can enjoy delicious seasonal cuisine made with fresh, local ingredients. For dessert, we highly recommend the Eckerbichl-Haustorte. The sleek, modern interior design is a draw in itself. Incidentally, the restaurant is named after the first person to climb the east face of the Watzmann and Germany's first official mountain guide. Weather permitting, be sure to make the most of the spacious te

Your congenial hosts Roman and Maria Mailänder represent the second generation of their family at the helm. They put their heart and soul into running this establishment that is typical for the region, and the service is friendly and welcoming. Imbued with the rustic charm of the Alps and adorned with decorative paintings, the ambience is warm and inviting. Alexander Rettenbacher is in charge of the kitchen and devises two three- to five-course set menus – there are one or two alternative main courses available. The cuisine is modern and seasonal, drawing on regional and Mediterranean influenc

This really is a special place: you enter the charming kitchen through the 500-year-old farmhouse, which is run by an established mother-and-daughter team. They inject love and skill into their cooking, which takes the form of a vegetarian set menu comprising fresh dishes made using regional produce. The two pretty holiday flats are also popular.
