Striking contemporary art adorns the walls inside this historical property dating back to 1863 – at 't Raedthuys, art and dining go hand in hand. The modern decor beautifully preserves the building's authentic character. A window to the kitchen allows you to see the chefs and their team at work. On sunny days, the terrace at the front is the perfect spot for a romantic dinner for two. Prepare to be delighted as hostess Anouska Lamers and sommelier Karina van der Kolk introduce you to their unique collection of imported wines, which pair beautifully with the culinary creations of Tom Lamers and

An oyster shell filled with a goose liver crémeux topped with raw oyster pieces and an apple brunoise, accompanied by a sea buckthorn cream with sambal and oyster juice foam – this is the kind of inventive, highly technical creation that demonstrates Mike Cornelissen's talent. Representing the fourth generation of his family to run this restaurant, he has made it entirely his own. The interior has been transformed into a sleek and stylish space, but the terrace has retained its original charm. But it is his creativity and the beautiful presentation of his dishes that are most remarkable. The b

Kasteel Engelburg is a gem of a castle estate that boasts charming guestrooms and top-tier golf facilities. First, make your way to the greenhouse, where you can take in the views of the peaceful natural surroundings. The chefs cook with reverence for classic techniques and a penchant for freshness and bright flavours. They work with the finest ingredients and know how to elevate them with exuberant sauces seasoned, for example, with the perfect amount of curry. This cuisine is sophisticated and, at times, delicate. Be sure to explore the selection of wines; after dinner, an impressive whisky

Chic, on trend and cheerful, Tante Blanche is a truly inviting space – the terrace out front is always delightful. Chef Charles Ek's surprise menu (vegetarian version available) pays homage to his aunt's cherished recipes. His cuisine is thoroughly contemporary, with a judicious touch of freshness and heat. For example, puffed quinoa-crusted langoustine is beautifully paired with a curry and lemongrass sauce, shellfish oil and mayonnaise, and vadouvan-spiced carrot. Trust the friendly waitstaff to guide you through the thoughtfully curated wine list.

(Temporarily closed) The relaxed atmosphere at LEV perfectly matches the concept behind this food bar: sharing dishes and enjoying good food together. The dishes (in snack-sized portions) are not overcomplicated; a couple of ingredients suffice to create amazing taste sensations. Steak tartare, pork tenderloin, cauliflower tempura, truffle risotto... At LEV, the table quickly fills with irresistible delicacies, often prepared using produce from the Achterhoek region. The perfect accompaniment to one of the many beers!

With its own bakery, patisserie and even a smokehouse, Marion Thus's bustling restaurant, once a café, is a place where nearly everything is made from scratch. Her enticing à la carte and set menus include plenty of vegetarian options. The chef's trademark generosity, rooted in tradition, shines through in dishes such as perfectly pink fillet of Gaasterland herb-fed pork with rösti, al dente vegetables, a mousseline sauce infused with ras-el-hanout and a sauce enriched with Gerardus Tripel beer. There's no holding back when it comes to bringing bold flavours to your plate. Be sure to peruse th

This watermill, which is over 600 years old, is without a doubt the star attraction of this charming restaurant. Both the warm and welcoming interior and the secluded terrace are popular. Ramon Klaassen takes great pride in his work, which you cannot fail to notice during his interactions with diners. His unique take on classic dishes never disappoints. For example he rolls up soft-boiled duck ham and fills it with a rich poultry mousse. Playful garnishes such as an onion chutney with nuts and reduced balsamic vinegar add that little something extra. The set menu (with options) is a hit – even

The authenticity of this former monastery (1293) has been preserved in every detail. Where once the friars used to take their meals, you can now enjoy a luxurious dining experience in a historical setting. The ultra-modern open kitchen immediately catches the eye. Niels van Dooijeweert brings a penchant for bold flavours and contemporary techniques to French dishes. Succulent pan-seared sea bream with a brunoise of tomato, papaya, onion and pak choi, in a curry sauce finished with lemon oil – this is the kind of cooking that draws so many diners; exceptional ingredients take the spotlight.
