De Kromme Dissel represents a piece of Dutch culinary history, having retained a MICHELIN Star since 1971. It is set in a 17C Saxon farmhouse that has a charming rustic interior and crackling fireplace that exude timeless warmth. Maître d' Ronnie Brouwer and his team provide attentive service and expert wine recommendations; seasoned chef Tonny Berentsen breathes new life into classic cuisine with creative ideas. Drawing inspiration from his travels through Asia, he elevates a venison jus with five spices to tease extra nuance out of venison saddle. Another standout: succulent quail breast rou

That same charm carries through to the terrace and the atmospheric interior. The cuisine is imaginative, built on playful textures and influences from around the globe. Picture Arctic char served with deep-fried kale and finely sliced green apple, as well as nasturtium, a cucumber pearl, tarragon ice cream and a herb-seasoned buttermilk sauce. The inspired wine recommendations hit the mark every time.

This spacious brasserie has a subtle industrial aesthetic, but its atmosphere is nonetheless thoroughly warm and welcoming. In fine weather, the inviting terrace beckons. On the enticing menu, familiar favourites such as steak tartare feature alongside Mediterranean, South American and Asian dishes. Whether through subtle heat, a refreshing lift of acidity or a full-bodied sauce, the chefs set themselves apart. A shining example is chicken breast from the Josper charcoal oven, topped with a fragrant bumbu Bali, brightened by sambal and a finely balanced sweet-and-sour salad of peanut, carrot a

Hotel de Sterrenberg's restaurant draws on its natural surroundings. The interior is sleek yet warm, combining lots of wood with concrete, and a large wooden stag's head that draws the eye. The chef believes in sourcing his produce locally, using local suppliers such as Gert van Eldik and the Veluwe asparagus farm. Diners are served a surprise menu composed of intricate and beautifully presented dishes. Think venison from the region with carefully considered vegetable accompaniments and a game jus enhanced with vermouth. A proud ambassador for the Veluwe!
