Enrico Bartolini al Mudec

Creative · ★★★ Michelin

€€€€

In his Milanese restaurant, the headquarters of the Bartolini international galaxy, the great chef – far from taking a break – continues to craft new dishes alongside resident chef Davide Boglioli, always focusing on fullness and intensity of flavors. There's nothing overly cerebral, though you can delve into the layers, references, and echoes if you wish. Or simply enjoy the perfect balance of the results. There are two tasting options: "Best Of" and "Mudec Experience," but dishes can also be selected à la carte. During our last visit, we were particularly struck by the creaminess and harmony

Verso Capitaneo

Creative, Mediterranean Cuisine · ★★ Michelin

€€€€

From the entrance on Piazza Duomo, you take a lift to this restaurant on the second floor where three long tables are arranged in front of the open-view kitchen so that guests can watch the chefs at work (there are also more traditional tables away from the kitchen if you prefer something more conventional). The Capitaneo brothers from Puglia are at the helm here, serving creative cuisine with the occasional influence from their native region, as well as dishes that also embrace the gastronomic traditions of their adopted city of Milan.

Seta by Antonio Guida

International, Contemporary · ★★ Michelin

Within the Mandarin Oriental, a symbol of Milanese luxury hospitality, Antonio Guida’s kitchen elegantly interprets the city’s cosmopolitan taste. Three tasting menus are offered: one dedicated to the chef’s classics, one to seasonality, and one to a single featured ingredient. In winter, dishes of great finesse come to the fore, from game to veal sweetbreads with cinnamon, through to a raspberry risotto, with desserts of a distinctly contemporary character. The wine list is of a high standard, available by the glass as well as by the bottle, and enhanced by magnums of notable vintages, alongs

Contraste

Modern Cuisine, Innovative · ★ Michelin

Following recent refurbishment, this restaurant in a period building that conjures up an image of old Milan has a bright and colourful feel thanks to its shades of blue, red and green. The courtyard, a small, tranquil space that adds an unexpected touch of greenery to this urban setting, is perfect for a cigar or aperitif. Once inside chef Matias Perdomo’s home, you have a choice between the “Riflesso” menu (traditional dishes yet prepared using modern techniques) and the “Riflessioni” menu (bolder and more innovative options featuring unusual combinations). Contraste’s philosophy lies in the

The Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II is one of the most iconic sights in Milan and as such it is apt that it is home to this star of Italian cuisine, whose professional career is one of the most impressive in Italy with influences that include the culinary master Alain Ducasse and wine expert Giorgio Pinchiorri. Together with owner Carlo, resident chef Luca Sacchi creates top-quality cuisine with impeccable technique. He showcases his dishes on a carefully composed tasting menu and an à la carte, with references to contemporary Italian cuisine in dishes such as the open ravioli and reinterpretati

Housed in the Casa Baglioni hotel, a beautiful Art Nouveau building dating from 1913, this restaurant has a contemporary feel with an elegant dining room featuring colourful armchairs. The cuisine is precise and distinctive, with a harmonious balance of traditional and innovative flavours thanks to the top-quality ingredients used. The wine list is also top-notch, featuring excellent Italian and international wines, including some rare and exclusive labels. Talented chef Emin Haziri, originally from Kosovo but raised in Italy and with significant professional experience behind him, now signs a line of contemporary and personalised cuisine. Alongside the more creative and imaginative offerings we find another with raw seafood, from oysters to caviar, from Sicilian shrimp to scampi. In the elegant and refined dining room with harmonious colours and fine furnishings, the open kitchen and marble counter with velvet stools stand out. The restaurant also has the soul of a cocktail bar where you are led once you enter for a welcome drink, before sitting
