Situated in the beautiful countryside outside Cerreto Guidi, Villa Petriolo is a magnificent Medici residence offering luxurious rooms in a setting of outstanding charm. In addition to the beauty of the villa and its garden, overlooked by the restaurant’s terrace, the location benefits from the property’s delicious home-produced ingredients, such as extra-virgin olive oil, wine, Cinta Senese pork, meat and chicken, produce from the kitchen garden and ancient grains. The kitchen reinterprets these rich ingredients with a modern twist, offering two tasting menus — one of which for vegetarians —

A fairy-tale setting for a property of almost castle-like aspect, originally built as a customs post on the River Po in the fourteenth century. Today Massimo Spigaroli, whose family were once sharecroppers on the surrounding land, is its owner and has transformed the complex into a complete destination: guest rooms, the Hosteria del Maiale bistrot and spaces for private events. Completing the experience are a visit to the Museo del Culatello and a ‘gastrofluvial’ cuisine deeply bound to the traditions of the local area. Among the historic dishes, the frogs’ legs stand out, golden with sweet ga

Traditional in atmosphere, starting from the rooms covered with decorations, to the cuisine, obviously from the area: this is the restaurant for those who do not like revisitations and exotic searches, but prefer to be reconfirmed in the classic Parmesan flavours: cured meats, fresh pastas, roasts and grilled meats, in a typical country farmhouse with a large garden and a store selling typical local food products.

A historical palazzo in the town center has been given new life after its purchase by a local entrepreneurial family, who also bestowed their name upon it. Just steps from the heart of Italy’s famed food valley, it now serves as a refined hospitality venue: the ground floor hosts a bar and bistro, while upstairs are elegant spaces devoted to gourmet cuisine. Tasting menus are available, with dishes also offered à la carte, alongside an extensive and well-curated wine list. The upper floors feature intimate, stylish guest rooms, designed in the same reassuring style that runs throughout the bui

An authentic trattoria which is a joy to visit, where time seems to have stood still for decades. Situated on the border between two provinces, the restaurant focuses on specialities from Parma, many of which are made from home - grown produce. Homemade pickles and chutneys are also sold here.

The determined and enthusiastic young owner of this restaurant graduated with a literature degree before giving in to her passion for food. She swapped her pen for a ladle and now creates delicious local specialities such as braised veal cheeks, alongside dishes from Pïacenza and Mantua, such as pisarei (a type of gnocchi) and sbrisolona cake.
