Tantris

international · ★ Michelin

€€€€

Tantris boasts a unique look with its bold colour scheme evoking the "red of lobster and black of truffle"! A few modern touches, such as a distinctive walk-in glass wine cabinet, complement the restaurant's legendary style without compromising its iconic 1970s charm. The cuisine of Benjamin Chmura and his team strikes a masterful balance of textures and flavours, often incorporating playful bursts of acidity. This is beautifully illustrated, for instance, by the charcoal-grilled and delicately spiced melt-in-the-mouth pigeon breast, accompanied by a red berry sauce with beautiful depth and ma

Bavarie

Farm to table, French

€€

Regionality is a principle that underpins Bavarie, here at BMW Welt. This translates into combining elements of Bavarian and French cuisine with a focus on high-quality produce. You can dine à la carte or take the set menu – there is also a vegan option, plus a three-course business lunch deal. The atmosphere in the spacious, airy, high-ceilinged room is pleasant. Nice terrace with a view of the Olympic Park and Tower.

THE CLOUD by Käfer

michelin

€€€€

Chef Jens Madsen serves up his extraordinary concept of "Culinary Nomadism", in which local ingredients meet global influences, at the equally special – and architecturally impressive – BMW Welt. For a year at a time, the spotlight is shone on a specific region of the world, its culinary traditions and techniques, spices etc. Each season brings with it change and progression – like a cloud moving through the sky. Inspired by his own trip to Africa, the chef takes you on a voyage of discovery of the flavours of East and South Africa. Top-quality produce goes into a tasting menu made up of eight

A pleasingly convivial and relaxed place to eat. If you appreciate high-quality steak cuts, then this restaurant with a trendy urban atmosphere is just the ticket. But the menu also whets your appetite with a host of other dishes and delicious desserts. The sharing options (vegetarian versions available) will give you a good impression of the cuisine here. Popular brunch on Saturdays and Sundays. Tip for car drivers: Public car park "Schwabinger Tor".

Nightingale Thai Cuisine & Bar

Thai, International

€€

Having spent years in the bustling metropolis of Bangkok, Dominik and May Carqueville are bringing a slice of the Far East to Dachau. Born and raised in Thailand, the chef has an innate talent for working with authentic Thai flavours. She skilfully incorporates contemporary influences and locally-sourced ingredients into the traditional cuisine of her homeland. Using only the freshest ingredients, she crafts dishes such as Ma Hor (caramelised minced pork with peanuts, pineapple, coriander and chilli) or pan-seared sea bass fillet in a choo chee curry sauce with kaffir lime leaves. JAPATAPA TOSHIBAR

japanese

€€€

Japatapa Toshibar is tucked away in a side street near Münchner Freiheit in the Schwabing district. Having formerly run the restaurant Toshi for a long time, owners Toshio and Tamiko Kobatake are no strangers to Munich's gastronomy scene. The small space, in which you sit at the counter or a small table, is done out in a minimalist style. Kobatake's cuisine is authentically Japanese: you should definitely try the tasty sushi, but dishes such as onsen egg with caviar and dashi broth or black cod grilled with saikyo miso are also tempting. The proprietress provides discreet and friendly service,
