Although all the staff at this beautiful historic restaurant on the village square hail from Sicily, they have been working in Switzerland for years. Here, authentic Sicilian cuisine is served in a rustic and welcoming setting that also provides the backdrop for regular music events: the only concessions to Ticino are the polenta-based dishes. Our inspector particularly recommends the sarde in “Beccafico”(stuffed sardine roulade with breadcrumbs, sultanas, pine nuts and orange peel). This Ticino-style stone house boasts a sun-blessed, verdant setting and a beautiful garden-terrace. Take a seat at one of its typical granite tables, either crowned by stone vaulting or shaded by trees, where you can savour exquisite Mediterranean on several tasting menus (including vegetarian) and an à la carte that includes daily specials. Other features include a well-stocked wine cellar and two romantic rustic-style guestrooms. Open for over three decades, Dan Enzo is now run by the second generation of the family.

This attractive restaurant boasting rustic yet modern dining rooms and a beautiful terrace shaded by a pergola has offered the same format for over 20 years – a single risotto-based dish (the house speciality) served with a delicious meat option, nearly always lamb fillet, and very few fish dishes. Reasonably priced, with everything of an excellent quality.
