In an evocative rural setting, among stone farmhouses, absolute tranquillity and a summer terrace that opens onto the surrounding hills, chef Stefania Di Pasquo presents an authentic cuisine, firmly rooted in the produce of her land and enhanced by a personal and unaffected touch. The variation of lamb is impeccable: a freshly cooked cutlet, a slow-braised preparation with onions, and alongside it a richly flavoured liver stew, together composing a coherent narrative of technique and memory. Equally remarkable is the dessert inspired by the traditional peasant breakfast, in which caramelised b

On the first hilly slopes that embrace the village, amidst vineyards and silent gardens, the austere simplicity of the former 16th century monastery perfectly reflects the culinary language of one of the most recognisable fine dining experiences in Italy. Niko Romito continues to define - and refine - his vision here: a rigorous minimalism that never relinquishes sensory depth, expressed through dishes based on the measured use of just a few ingredients – be they vegetables or proteins – orchestrated with almost ascetic precision. The research continues relentlessly, as does the link with Abruz

If you're not already in the area, plan some time to get there, traveling through a green, hilly landscape to reach Borgotufi, a "diffused hotel" spread among stone houses. In the former stables transformed into a restaurant, Marco Pasquarelli, a talented young chef, offers a modern take on various local ingredients, with a few seafood dishes as well.

A simple, rustic trattoria, perched among the narrow streets of the upper part of the village. The owners themselves attend to both dining room and kitchen, ensuring that homestyle yet flavorful Abruzzese dishes reach the table, sometimes announced verbally to complement a menu featuring cheeses, cured meats, and grilled fare (yes, there are arrosticini!). The specialties not to be missed are certainly the traditional handmade pastas, each bearing its own distinctive name, and the indulgent desserts (the seasonal fruit crostatas are excellent). Also noteworthy is the small wine list showcasing

Despite its lack of awards, this restaurant stands out for the quality of its cuisine. Situated in the town centre, it has a small intimate dining room with just a few tables (it’s best to book ahead) that acts as a backdrop for good-quality dishes made from local, seasonal ingredients, as well as a few modern and imaginative fish options. Highly recommended!

Known throughout Italy for its pillow lace, the small town of Pescocostanzo in the Parco della Maiella is one of the most beautiful in Italy. It is also home to the Relais Ducale hotel and its La Corniola restaurant, which is renowned for its excellent modern Abruzzo cuisine, including delicious, seasonal dishes made from different vegetables, potatoes and onions grown in the hotel’s own kitchen gardens. Simple yet elegant dining room.

A pleasant and intimate terrace overlooks the shores of an artificial lake dedicated to sports activities. The glass windows provide the same view from the modern, sleek, and minimalist interior rooms, just like the dishes: creative, yet reminiscent of local cuisine, such as the simple but tasty Pallotta Cacio e Ova, offered among the welcome bites. There are also various daily specials according to the market. The service is friendly and attentive, with a young and motivated team overall.
