Aimia
Modern Cuisine · Bib
€€
A restaurant that is well worth considering as it is never easy to find modern cuisine at affordable prices. The restaurant, which takes its name (’a beloved woman’) from an old Catalan language once sung by troubadours, boasts a contemporary interior with a kitchen visible from the dining room and an adjoining bar so that you can watch as the dishes are prepared in front of you. Chef Jordi Pallàs champions a modern fusion cuisine with plenty of Asian influences, both in the à la carte service and through his set menus (Aimia and Alma de Aimia). Our recommendation? Try their Llauna-style rice

Sisè is situated in the district of Cappont, a residential area to the south of the city, where it is run in a very informal manner by Àngel Esteve, a young Lleida-born chef who has returned to his roots to open his own business (the name is his own small homage to his grandparents) having worked away in a number of leading restaurants. His cuisine, the main inspiration for which derives from the open grill, is showcased on an updated take on traditional cuisine, to which he adds interesting smoke-influenced touches (a superb example is the grilled cod with celery). The kitchen opens onto the

Enthusiasm, passion, youth... the couple at the helm (with Salvador in charge of savoury and Aroa in charge of sweet) champion an innovative take on traditional cuisine in the centre of Lleida, which is reflected in both the à la carte and set menus: Degustación Aroa (lunchtime only, Monday to Friday, except bank holidays) and Degustación Salvador. Recommendations? Always keep an eye out for their off-menu dishes and don't miss the Lleida snails stewed with slow-cooked tomato and onion, as they have an exquisite flavour.

Ferreruela
Farm to table
€€
This rustic-contemporary restaurant occupying an old warehouse is one of those places that has fully earned its reputation as a safe bet. It offers a traditional-Catalan menu that changes daily in line with market availability and is able to surprise guests with some of its dishes, such as the foie gras sandwich with crystallised orange and Château Laribotte Sauternes. All the main dishes here are cooked on the open grill.

La Boscana
Creative · ★★ Michelin

If you’re looking for a special restaurant, La Boscana offers a culinary experience enhanced by its natural setting, with glass-fronted buildings overlooking pretty gardens, leafy groves and an idyllic lake, making this one of the most romantic places to eat in Spain! In its elegant dining room, bathed in natural light and embellished with designer details, enjoy innovative cuisine from Joel Castañé that has a strong emphasis on detail, both in terms of technique and presentation. Through his menus (usually one concise menu and a second, more extensive, seasonal option), the chef skilfully rew

Are you crazy about rice dishes? Then don't miss this restaurant, one of the most interesting places to try them in the Segrià region of Lleida. The chef, who offsets the simplicity of the setting with a large dose of friendliness and presence in the dining room, is committed to a traditional-regional cuisine faithful to local products. Although they offer a carefully selected set menu, with suggestive starters (such as the black pudding ravioli with foie gras), meats and fish, the most outstanding dishes here are the rice dishes (made from the different varieties of Molí de Pals), normally fo

Farm to table, Seafood

Southwest of Lleida, en route to Zaragoza, there is a family-run restaurant that never fails. The owner, Galician by birth, is faithful to his roots and goes all in on fresh fish and seafood of tremendous quality, brought daily from the ports of Galicia and Tarragona. The extensive menu, complemented by some dishes of the day, is supported by three set menus: Menú de l'Angel (only on weekdays), Menú del chef and Menú degustación, with an indoor terrace that is ideal on summer days!

This family-run restaurant occupies an old farm on the outskirts of Gimenells, where it works alongside the Institute for Food Research and Technology to promote the region’s locally grown produce.
