The clean, minimalist design immediately catches the eye, as do the striking brick arches overhead. Seated at attractive solid wood tables in a pleasantly relaxed setting, diners have a clear view into the open kitchen – and they can see just how dedicated Fabian Günzel and his team are! The pared-down interior is reflected in the numerous modern and creative courses of the set menu. The wonderfully succulent charcoal-grilled Atlantic turbot is an excellent example of the emphasis placed on premium ingredients – delicately aromatic and perfectly seasoned, it is served alongside lightly sautéed

The name "Z'SOM" (meaning "together") conjures up a sense of community and culinary delight in a sociable and relaxed atmosphere. Your friendly hosts Judith Lergetporer and Diego Briones really put their heart and soul into this place. While she presides over the restaurant floor, welcoming guests with warmth and charm, he is at work in the open kitchen, skilfully incorporating his Chilean roots and international experience into original, flavourful and sophisticated dishes. Think premium-quality wild prawns with Amarillo chilli, succulent pigeon à la royale or delicious lavender ice cream inf

Chef Alexandru Simon and his team present thoughtfully composed dishes rooted in classic French culinary tradition, meticulously prepared yet never overwrought, and balanced perfectly in flavour. Carefully selected ingredients are given space for their aromas to unfold fully. The regularly changing seven-course set menu features memorable creations such as tortelloni with Swiss chard, sea urchin bisque, hoshigaki and XO sauce, or celery with dulce de leche, coffee and pickled quince – each course enhanced by the astutely curated wine pairings courtesy of maître d' and sommelier Max Populorum a

A cool concept that attracts guests all day long. On Fridays, they serve up a cosy breakfast; Saturday is dedicated to the "Rosi Brunch Club", with a menu that changes every week; on Thursday and Friday lunchtimes, there is an affordable daily special. In the evening from Wednesday to Saturday, sharing is the name of the game. The interesting menu includes a surprise "Chef's Choice" (if ordered by the whole table), otherwise, you can make your own choice of delicious, modern and creative dishes to share (eg wild broccoli, grilled over charcoal, with kimchi hollandaise). The food is predominant

Close to the Mariahilfer Straße shopping drag, on the seventh floor of the chic MOTTO boutique hotel, this restaurant has really distinctive architecture. The tasteful upscale interior will appeal to diners, as will the pleasantly lounge-like atmosphere, complemented by an interesting bar. The food is straightforward and unpretentious. Try one of their "all-time classics" such as bouillabaisse or steak tartare. Or perhaps coq au vin rouge, followed by crème brûlée? One floor up is the rooftop terrace, which boasts a magnificent view, and, although it only serves a smaller menu, it really is th

Housed in a corner plot building in an inconspicuous location in the 4th district, this restaurant serves an interesting mix of Nippon and Nikkei cuisine – ie Japanese- and Peruvian-inspired dishes are in the spotlight. This unpretentious cuisine also goes wonderfully well with the interior, which is decked out in warm colours and characterised by modern lines. The sushi bar is located in one of the three rooms. Try the delicious finger food, sushi (including lobster nigiri with a creamy spicy sauce) or main courses such as black cod yuzu miso. Attentive service from staff who also provide goo

Tucked away in a residential area at a remove from the tourist trail, this restaurant is well worth the detour. In keeping with its charming traditional decor – the floorboards, wooden panelling on the walls and high ceilings evoke the atmosphere of an old-style Viennese inn – it proposes straightforward and delicious regional cuisine, which is popular with locals too. In addition to classic dishes such as Wiener schnitzel, offal and game take pride of place on the menu – the chef is a keen hunter himself. Check out the "Stern im Glas" range for delicious options to enjoy at home.
